1) You don't, see below 2) You might not know every site you wanted blocked off the top of your head, trial and error for a while is the best way to go then
Yes, because Chrome doesn't do a big media campaign from going to 8, to 9, to 10 etc. It just updates itself frequently and you have some new features every so often, without the big hoopla of OMG version 4 is coming out!!! we have 1 biiilllion downloads for it!!!
For the thousands of years before that, religion was right on in their recommendations.
*BUZZ* Incorrect. By that logic, me stating that you shouldn't stick your hand in an active lawnmower because it does not appease God is a valid statement.
While I might be right, the reason behind it is unsubstantial.
Haven't had any problems at all with Virgin and have been pleasantly surprised. Had mine upgrade to 50mbps about two months ago and it does exactly what it says it does. When I download games from Steam or anything else that can actually upload fast enough I download at a good 6+ MB/sec.
Been with Virgin about 2 years and have only had one or two late nights that I was out for a few hours, acceptable.
Better than trying to create a login for every random site that decides you need to log in just to leave a comment.
And no, I hardly ever actually create a random account just to comment on. But you know what, I might actually just leave a comment if I'm already logged into facebook and it's easy.
My PC-challenged mother has been using Facebook for most of her online pursuits. All those "Like" and "Share" buttons on Youtube, her foreign newsfeeds and random sites have made her believe that they're a normal part of the TCP protocol or something.
To 99.99% of the world they are more useful than knowing anything about the TCP protocol.
Launchpad: An overlay of application launch icons right, sorted how I want them, just like on your mobile device. Not buried in menus or folders. Proven interface. Just give me a touch screen in my macbook now.
There is nothing buried in menus or folders if you don't want it that way.
More Gestures: Unlike Windows that ships to most users on 2nd and 3rd rate hardware with a USB two button mouse, OS X ships on high quality hardware with an amazing multitouch gesture pad, or available to desktop and home theatre users via the bluetooth magic trackpad. Windows will continue to be built for the least common denominator hardware until MS gets a clue.
Yes, everyone must be forced to buy high quality hardware instead of being able to buy a ridiculously cheap Dell or whatever that does what they need.
Built-in Version Control: Finally. Integrated RCS for your documents at no cost to you in a consumer OS. Yes, its been done on Linux but never this end user friendly and never this well integrated.
You mean like in Windows where you right click on the file and then go to "Previous Versions"?
No more spending 20 minutes to get all applications and windows back how they were after work after rebooting for a security patch or turning it back on after being packed away for a trip.
Please oh please explain how it takes you 20 minutes to get your applications restarted. When I reboot Windows 7 (which I do maybe once every other month- yes, it is extremely stable but I'm sure you don't believe that) any applications I normally use are at the bottom and I click a few times to open whatever I need...
No MS, stacking task bar windows is not an improvement.
And I thought Office 2010 was hard to use. The new Excel is a nightmare to learn well. And now, "bubbles"?
A nightmare to learn? You might, being able to right click and have every highly used feature available right away. A ribbon bar a the top that is nicely sorted by types so you just choose a tab and have everything you need to do visually available in case you don't know exactly the name?
SOME context = you are viewing an American website so if it's a 2 letter abbreviation that is clearly a "place" it's probably a freaking state abbreviation. You really are having a hard time with this concept, aren't you.
Quake put the modding community into full throttle. No longer was it just level design (Doom) or pure hacks (I remember in Doom there was an overlay hack to put a red dot where you were gun was pointed). Quake allowed you to completely customize the way everything worked. Not to mention it is the first true 3D game.
Also very disappointed to see World of Warcraft as the first (and only?) MMO on that list. Ultima Online or Everquest not on there? Come on.
Really now? Who mods these people up. Someone can also kidnap your family and tell you if you don't go to the physical voting booth and vote their way they will kill your family.
If you are worried about your boss forcing you to vote his way, holy hell there is something wrong with you.
WA: as in Washington State, in the United States of America, in the North American continent, on the planet Earth, third from the center of this solar system, in the Milkey Way galaxy.
Just how much context are you looking for on a US-based website?
Shrug, "the politically engaged voters who care" seem to usually be the ones with so one-sided views that you can't have a debate with or hope to ever change their mind. So, fine by me if it's easier for everyone to vote.
And if they had stopped selling it you would have been crying "Microsoft is forcing me to use Windows 7 because I can't buy XP anymore!!!".
See how much of a win-win argument it is for you?
X is also not on the Internet due to the requirement of Flash.
1) You don't, see below
2) You might not know every site you wanted blocked off the top of your head, trial and error for a while is the best way to go then
Really.. thanks for clearing that up!
Wow, who modded you up for being such a tool?
Yes, because Chrome doesn't do a big media campaign from going to 8, to 9, to 10 etc. It just updates itself frequently and you have some new features every so often, without the big hoopla of OMG version 4 is coming out!!! we have 1 biiilllion downloads for it!!!
Is everything related to the internet suddenly lumped in with the Cloud now?
Then turn it off and don't have your bank account linked to your phone.
Stop ruining technology for the rest of us that aren't paranoid.
My penis can still get you.

Yeah, now maybe you might have to think about what you wrote before pressing submit.

Yes, it is. See how that argument works?

Yeah, it's just a nightmare...
You should floor all prices, that way you are getting instant savings.
SOME context would be nice you know.

I'm neither of those, but am honestly too busy to check a stupid web site 3-4x a day.
BTW how often do you visit Slashdot?
Will I still use Google? Yes? Do I have my Applehead loyalty to them any more? No!
Well, will you still use Google?

But, the problem is people think "oo netflix that's the way of the future, not old fashioned cable providers" and they pump their money into it.
Why is that a problem? So what if it is overvalued according to traditional valuations. Maybe you are the one looking at the wrong way to value it.
