I seem to recall reading about this as a kid back in the 60s in Popular Science. It was supposed to make shipping freight cheaper. But for some reason it never caught on. Is this round 2, fifty years later?

Wonder how long before some crimes will no longer carry the death penalty but organ donation penalty? No one was really executed just all of their organs donated, too bad they could not live without kidneys, liver, and both lungs. Have the script writers actually read the book and understood it or are they just going to go by the movie and what today's self entitled individuals want? Just try to tell someone now that they have to put in 2 years of civil service to vote or hold certain jobs and they will claim it is facist, racist, sexist or some type of istism as 2 years of any type of service would interfere with their lives.
I think before every funding vote or discussion all of the congress critters and senatorial types need to pee in the little cup AND blow into a breathalyzer. And no immunity should apply if they test positive.
So 0.0003% of the population of the United States reflects the views of the other 99.9%? I understand the concept of statistical analysis, but with that small of a sampling it seems to be more of sensationalism than anything else.
As anyone who has been through any type of self defense firearms training will tell you, aiming at the center of mass is simply a case of it being the largest target and easier to hit when things go to hell in a hand basket.

Warner has owned Superman publisher DC Comics since 1969."? Monetizing it and making money from it may be considered merchandising.
The fare may be at $86 at first, then when they realized that they are losing money to self driving vehicles and people that want to be able to sight see and go when they want to go instead of when the train is scheduled they will do something about it. Most likely putting tolls on the connecting highways and keep on increasing them until they get the traffic they expect on the rails. Then of course the train fare will be increased to make more money as the fare setting authorities see the power and market value they now have.
If something goes in something must come out. The question is what will it be? CO2+H2O = H2CO3 which I THINK is carbonic acid. Any chemists or chemically inclined wish to confirm this?
Ever tried OpenMeetings (http://openmeetings.apache.org)? It has a whiteboard in it and I have been in group discussions using it, voice and video. Not as good as a face to face but better than having to travel especially when weather makes it difficult. I think Google Hangouts does something like that too but have not tried it.
which really will not work in areas that experience a monsoon season during the summer seasons. For example in Arizona the monsoon season starts beginning of July and last through September. The monsoon (not a weather service term for you purists) is typically when the dew point is at 55 degrees for 3 days. Guess when a swamp cooler looses effectiveness? When the wet bulb is at 55 degrees. So it is only useful during 2 months of the year in the U.S. desert souhwest.
I wear them all of the time and have not a problem with using them with multiple or single monitor computers. The first time I ever put them on there was about 30 seconds of disorientation until I go used to them. You also need to be sure to use the right frames.
However there are people where I work who can not wear any type of bifocals so they use 2 different glasses. They have tried progressive and traditional bifocals in various combinations of frames but still are unable to use them.
As someone pointed out you have to have some idea of the project you are looking for. I have found many software projects on Freshmeat/Freecode just by going there 3 or 4 times a week. Sometimes there will be things listed that I had not given any thought to and then I see it listed there found it intriguing went to the web page and checked it out. Later on I would go back and download it because I would recall months later when the need arised it was there. Trying do that with google, what would be the search string, "New software"? Especially for us not searching for anything specific and just wanted to find new open source software in general.
I seem to recall that years and years ago Steve Ciarcia wrote a series of article in his Circuit Cellar magazine about making sensors and a home built EEG. If I recall correctly it used relatively inexpensive parts and off the shelf sensors when necessary. All designed for the hobbyist and much lower in cost. Of course I may be wrong. But still wondering, whats the big hoo haw about something this expensive?
Beekeeper, distiller, brewer, weaver, apothecary, farrier, metal worker, farmer and lots of other occupations in the same line. Without technology or reliable power all of this will become more critical and more labor intensive requiring above average skills.
crowbars, prybars, hammers and chisels, seen them all used on the boxes. Plus in some areas will be like a watering hole in the wild. All of the predators will gather there waiting.
I recall some time back when law enforcement and the postal inspectors were pointing out that cluster mailboxes just makes it easier to steal mail. Particularly as all of the mail is now located in one spot. So now we'll have an even higher density of mail to be stolen?
