They were just a bunch of homegrown terrorists with no idea how to parlay with real men of culture or how to fight with the civility of modern warfare. Savages really. They also distributed pamphlets that said the most disturbing things about king and crown, but the 'American' people were so stupid that even the pamphlets had to have pictures in them. Their new government also shows signs of their naivety, it has not supreme leader, just separate branches designed to counteract each other. It's like they want to prevent the government from accomplishing anything. I for one don't expect them to last 10 years on their own.

You miss the point. There is NO actual threat. If an individual system is connected to the Internet and controls critical things then it is the problem. The trumped threat here is about the same as the Y2K claims. Sure a few systems might crash, but we won't have nuclear weapons launching and power plants exploding. The ability to shut down the Internet, or parts of it, is not about an actual threat, it's about control. Both sides of the political aisle see the Internet as an uncontrolled medium for freedom of speech, and on both sides there are those that see it as something that must be controlled. I used to be strongly for public decency standards on the internet, such as preventing porn from getting to minors, but now I've come to realize that you have to get the good with the bad or just the bad because those that play by the rules are the only one's subjected to the rules.

I bought a used HP color laserjet for home use after getting frustrated with the cost of replacing ink. When I purchased it a year and a half ago it was almost out of black toner. It's still almost out of black toner. I only print on average a couple of pages a week, but with an inkjet the cost per sheet is obscene because the cartridges clog if you do not continually use them. Never had a problem printing when I want to print, and when the black toner does run out it's cheap enough to refill. My printer has an override that allows printing regardless of toner status, but the newer HPs don't, even then toner kits are easily available with fresh chips for much less than the actual toner cartridge price. At this point that almost empty toner cartridge is probably going to last a couple more years, and the printer payed for itself in less than a year.

When a teacher gives certain students an 'F' on a test and never returns tests back that is suspicious. When the same teacher has a feud with another teacher who runs an extracurricular activity which the students take part in that is also suspicious. When it is a pre-cal teacher and the extra curricular activity is Math UIL that's more than suspicious. And when after reviewing the student's homework which is nearly perfect, and then finally getting to review the tests (after the teacher was forced by administrators to hand them over) the tests are nearly perfect but are graded as Fs (and not high Fs). You can't take away 60 points because you don't like the person, things like that only happen on slashdot. But sadly at that point nothing could be done. The tests were out in the open and "open to fraud" the homework was insubstantial as evidence, and all that was left was for the students to retake the suspiciously scored tests. From my research geothermal heating is wonderful, cooling not so much. If you live in a cold climate then it's very efficient and cheaper than other heating methods. If you live in a hot climate it is slightly more efficient than a conventional heat pump, but at a cost difference that will NEVER pay for itself. I figure in a few years both geothermal heat pumps and evacuated tube solar collectors will take up most of the heating in the north. Maybe when the technology becomes more commonplace (cheaper) it will also be beneficial to use it in hot climates.
