Hey! This is a block away from my stepson's preschool! Maybe I'll go pay it a visit after I pick him up from school. . . . .
I will have to say that it's been a difficult trip for me, especially since I'm one who is hardware inclined, which is, I think, one of the rarest of geekchick types. I've been tearing apart and putting my computer together since high school, and have noticed that when guys discover this, I get one of 2 reactions:
1. Utter Disbelief. 2. Instant attraction.
Serously, even my husband said that he was more attracted to me when he found out that I had my own computer and liked to take the bits out and rearrange them and put them back in.
The biggest problem I have had in the work environment is the Utter Disbelief category. Most guys I run into refuse to believe that I know anything about computers. It is so frustrating to run into this, time and again. Even where I work now, I'm call center support instead of true IT, because of any number of different excuses, yet I see them hire some completely new male bozo instead of making an in-house hire. *sigh* but I guess that's what I have to put up with for not being the accepted gender.
I thought the idea of getting them directly from Blizzard was so they could be fed-exed earlier than the 30th when they'd be hitting the stores. How many at the compound have the collector's Ed., btw? Being that I'm a little curious
I think it all depends on how close you are to the distribution center. I got my copy yesterday (the 28th) from Babbage's in the S.F. area (close to Blizzard North) They only had copies of the C.E. for preorders though, and it was only $10 more for it. I thought it was worth it to get the soundtrack cd and dvd of the cinematics...
>Even though NASA has had some troubles lately, they are still the class act in my opinion that they always were. Once commercialism comes into the picture, it'll lose focus on the scientific efforts that are it's passion.
NASA has cut commercial deals in the past. Don't forget the exclusive Life magazine deal that made all the Mercury astronauts famous . . . .
