Or in case of proper firefox releases, 3.6.23. The last number was for minor crap like this release, middle number was for minor and major features, and first number was for very big changes.
Good thing 3.6 is still supported. Someone at mozilla foundation still has a shred of sanity left.
You don't. Politicians are scum, and not because I'm being an ass, but because you simply don't get to go high in politics if you're not scum - you will be undercut and taken down by other scum who want the same job as you.
The saying referenced by grandparent is good for personal interaction. In personal life, a politician can be a really nice person. But when it comes to professional behavior, especially in politics, it has no place.
I suggest starting with studying history. Then moving on to noticing how history repeats itself.
Then in the end, if this still doesn't explain the extreme ignorance expressed in above article, go to wikipedia and search for "nepotism". It's that thing that ensures that the truly great thinkers and doers will be either subjugated or killed off in the interest of ensuring continuation of distribution of wealth along the bloodlines.
To argue against this fact is to argue against the entire history of our race.
They give "beer money" because they essentially own family money - it's expected that husband brings his entire salary home to his wife, who may or may not, at her own discretion give husband some spending money.
It really isn't nearly as rosy as you paint it. Grass only appears to be greener on the other side.
"There is no universal sense of justice - there are as many views on what is just as there are people on the planet. That is why wars are fought on all levels, from individual to world."
Knowing someone is "generally" a lying sack of shit, and knowing exactly where and when they lied and what were the contents of lies, is the same as artillery knowing where "generally" enemy is vs exact spotting co-ordinates.
Former is largely pointless for other then "watch out for them". Second is utterly devastating for targeted parties.
My 98SE running IRC bot machine had an average uptime of a couple of days, mostly running IRC stuff, mail client, netscape, and winamp. I suppose if you do nothing but install and uninstall stuff, or stress system in other creative ways, you'll crash it far sooner, but for average user, it really could stay up for entire evening at the very least.
It was 98 wiseguy. Back then linux was an os that was barely starting to look decent, mac os was a joke that only graphic designers used, unix was widespread on server world to far greater degree then it was today, and having a consumer PC stay up for days without need to reboot was a fucking miracle.
Next you should giggle about using single and double digit megabytes to measure RAM size.
Major difference between vanilla 98 and SE was stability. Back then, windows crashed on regular basis, and SE was just extremely solid and could run for days without rebooting, while 98 required restarts every few hours on most systems.
Vanilla XP was pretty good. I had to administer a machine that couldn't be upgraded because of some arcane bug that always killed the updater and I didn't have OEM install disk for it, but with proper firewall and non-stupid users, it ran well into 2008 with no problems (except for lack of faster USB support).
I'm fairly certain that for most websites, linux users can be fit into error margin. Even in best case scenario, you'll still be looking at a single digit number.
That's nowhere near 25-50%. Windows users, who form the bulk of FF's userbase are indeed staying away from upgrading to latest version.
You should give IE another shot to be honest. It's not nearly as bad as it used to be. If they ever release functional adblock and noscript for it, I would very much consider changing to it from FF3.6.
Users are already leaving by simply opting out of upgrading from 3.6. There was a slashdot post a few weeks ago about distribution of firefox versions on some popular site, and over a quarter of users were still on 3.6, and less then half on latest version.
Your issue is comparing two different categories. 12" notebooks run 6-cell batteries, typically pack discreet 3d hardware (nvidia ion, it heats up a lot, uses a lot of electricity) and weigh more because of larger form factor.
By comparison, 10" cheaper version has integrated intel graphics (intel gma 3150, doesn't heat at all really, no significant power usage either), 3-4 cell battery (about 1/3 lighter) and is thinner. And 10" version essentially trashes any tablet I've seen when it comes to ultraportability, which is why I picked it for my mother - her main reason to swap her old 15" was that it was "too heavy and uncomfortable". She has been gushing about the "cute small and light" netbook I gave her as a present. FYI her work when out of the office consists mainly of showing and demoing engineering projects and demos on various shows as well as handling engineering part of orders (she works at an engineering company that manufactures certain hardware for large factories). Her comment on tablets when salesperson suggested it to her was, and I quote "this is useless to me without a keyboard and proper office suite, and am not going to lug around an extra keyboard, I'd rather keep my old laptop".
Personally I do understand why a male would pick 12" over 10" (pun intended). 12" has a much more comfortable keyboard, as 10"'s keyboard is quite small (I tried a lot of netbooks when we were picking one). But it seems to be a perfect size for a woman with slender fingers, as she absolutely loved it. Personally I was really trying to convince her to get 12" for much better specs, but she was rather adamant about ultraportability being #1 priority over everything else.
As a result, I'd argue that I'm not "stuck in my box". I actually know what I'm talking about from experience of having to research and manage a close relative getting herself something that matches her needs.
Which is a shame, as a couple of years ago firefox was a slashdot baby that everyone loved.
This is something that makes me wonder as well. The only reason I still use FF (3.6 in my case) is add-ons.
If Opera supported FF add-ons, or had alternatives for all my current add-ons, I'd switch now and never look back.
As opposed to goal post that shifts every other day, and any of these days may break your desired functionality.

To live in a country where you overpay for your healthcare so much, that they can afford to do stuff like that and still make profit.
FTFY.
They give "beer money" because they essentially own family money - it's expected that husband brings his entire salary home to his wife, who may or may not, at her own discretion give husband some spending money.

"I come to them and bring them pain".
FTFY. Then again, some specialized prostitutes do the same, and change a hell lot more then you ever could!
Beauty of copyright: they ARE the only game in town when it comes to movies that they own copyright to.
I wouldn't know, I never had it stay up that long.
I would think that prostitutes have it easy. "I bring pleasure to these nice men I bring home, and they pay me for it".
You certainly can't say the same as software developer.
Buggy codec/driver interaction crashing OS. Hell, that plagued XP as well, through to a lesser degree.
Not really OS's fault though.

You either have some very damning inside information, or are extremely clueless and enjoy spreading FUD.

It's insightful in a funny way.
