    it could be possible with a tpm. the opensource software controls the datastream and the controlinformation, the tpm decodes the encryption only shortly before the videocard, so noone can grab the signal before. And with HDCP it can even be encrypted til it enters the monitor.

    you are comparing mpeg2 and mpeg4? m(
    mpeg2 is a high-quality constant-rate codec, mpeg4 is a high-compressed codec, they have other target audiences.

    a salt is (semi)public. You store
    hash(pw+salt), salt

    this just prevents an attacker from doing:
    dictionary -> dictionary of hashs
    and thus finding passwords in the dictionary. the attacker needs to create n hash-dictionaries for n accounts.

    sha1 is fast. it should be. a slow algorithm is as good as a fast one, if you look at O-Notation. And computers get faster. If the password is long enough, this does not matter, because password length is exponential in computing time, so the difference between two algorithms is very little, because its only linear.

    i can type pretty fast, but i cannot type code as fast as prosa. Too much symbols at second/third level and far away keys to type as fast as normal text.

    But i think its good to be a fast typist, anyway.

    this is good to not forget it. but not to remember it.

    choose a password like: irsded
    then i will remember it as its spoken: i r s ded
    if i ever forget it, i will remember it by the meaning: I Read SlashDot Every Day
    but if i need to look at the sentence to type in the password, i need some time to collect the first letters, thats not the way i remember it everyday.

    and because of this, i cannot use wefgi7weeglefgwaossdfwejk as password, even if it has a very nice sentence assoziated.

    it does not work that way. you will reclaim one ip per router in very different nets. you cannot count the ips reclaimed, you need continuus nets to allocate.

    how long do you have a wikipedia video open? most videos are between 10 and 30 seconds. this is not enough to even find enough peers. and then you should seed at least twice the bytes you downloaded ... this will not work.
    and you would need to view videos at times when other people are viewing these videos, too.

    the simplest error was when i tested it:
    go to signup page, click signup without entering anything. you get a stacktrace.

    django has the forms framework, and django is only rails for python. i think rails will have something like that. and if not, they should catch the exception with own code.
    this is clearly the first bad smell. from there it went downhill ...
