I'm pretty sure we (I'm from Scotland, which has a slightly different education system to England, to which the article refers) had learned how to do integrals by the age of 14. Although we learned calculus initially by rote, and only later were told what it was actually for.
I wasn't clever enough to figure out its purpose by myself...
We tend to use Paint.NET for that purpose. It's a little bit more userfriendly to boot. The only people who get the GIMP on their PC are the Linux fanboys so they'll feel a little bit more at home.
I'm using Ubuntu with Compiz just now, and while multiple desktops is a passable hack, it doesn't make up for the lack of an Expose-like feature. (The nearest clone I found with Compiz shows all desktops rather than all Windows, and doesn't let you drag items from the normal view to the exposed view and back again).
No one is forcing you to drive your receiver from the HDMI out. You can plug the HDMI cable straight into your TV or use a $200 swit.ch box for multiple sources, then continue to drive your receiver by TOSLink
Not that this site mis-represents the British education system, in that it applies to England, Wales and Northern Ireland only. In Scotland the years are Primary 1-7, then 1st through 6th year of High School.
It makes no sense to use an apostrophe in "60s," since there is nothing between the '0' and the 's.' The case could be made for its acceptability when pluralizing abbreviations. E.g. GPO's.
The best advice I can give these people is to use an online sniping service if they can. The 1% of closing price fee is paid for many times over by the savings you make.
There're still quite a few Xbox games that are Japan only, or take several months to reach America. Of course, for someone living outside of America, a modchip is essential, given the leadtimes America gets over Europe with most games.
Dunno if I'll be waiting tho. I plan to buy an American Xbox 2 on day one (I live in the UK), and just send it off to get chipped when the opportunity arrives.
Have you ever actually played a Tetsuya Mizuguchi game? You sound like you haven't a clue what you're talking about. If there's one game developer who's out to do his own thing, then it's him.
The reason you ask people rather than asking a machine is because people can respond with meaningful opinions, but Google can't. It's all well and good having a list of OSS web log software, but not everyone has the time to try them all out, and if others already have done so, it's better to re-use that experience, and possibly even allow others to do so as well.
Sorry, but "Toxic" is mediocre at best, and I haven't heard anything by Avril that I would remotely consider worth listening too. Pop music is getting worse and worse by the year. I can't even turn on Beat 106 now without feeling nauseous.
Is that the Xbox version? My Japanese PS2 Metal Slug 3 lets you continue as many times as you want. Then it tells you how many times once you complete the game. Does the Xbox version really only give you one continue?
SNK don't give a flying fuck about the Neo Geo home system. The piracy they're talking about is in the arcade. Arcade owners are their customers. Arcade (MVS) Neo Geo games sell for a lot more than $200 new. That is where SNK make their money. When unscrupulous or unwitting arcade owners buy pirated games instead of the originals, it does hurt SNK. These aren't children downloading ROMs. These are people in business buying from pirates to save a hundred dollars or so. They would have bought the game regardless, because owning the latest King of Fighters is essential to the arcade operator's business. Therefore, SNK lose a sale.
I think SNK have every right to feel pissed off when some lowlife gangster is making serious money off of their work.
The Sonic 10th Aniversary pack that came with Sonic Adventure 2 lists that misinformation as well. It's kind of disappointing when a company doesn't know it's own history.
Tectoy is the official licencee for Sega in Brazil, so it's perfectly legal. They've been publishing Sega's games there for years, up to and including the Dreamcast. They also produced a number of Brazil only Master System games, mostly ported from the Game Gear (eg, Gunstar Heroes and Sonic Blast), but they also released a quite respectable port of Street Fighter II. They were still releasing Master System up to 1998.
I believe the Dreamcast is still being manufactured there under licence too.
I'd say it's perfectly possible to be intelligent about one thing e.g., mathematics, whilst lacking in some other area, e.g., social engineering.

No, I believe he is an Italian American.
300 dpi? Teh sux0r. I'd want 1200 dpi at least.

Thank fuck we don't have stupid laws like this here. Seriously, fuck all motorists.

I just spent most of my time giggling about how "himem.sys" sounded like a part of the female anatomy.

Yeah, I'm sure the ruling elite love overtaxing their eight litre Jaguars.
No, he's talking about the QBASIC editor 'edit' that's been included with DOS from version 5.0.
Disclaimer: I use VIM.
Heheh. Someone else remembers that. My grandparents, inexplicably, had a V2000, a Betamax and a VHS VCR. And probably way too much money.

That's what friends only posts are for.

Thank-you,
