Use it to store your unlock codes for your car, use it as a TV remote, use it as a dictionary, use it with GPS and for referencing city maps, and use it to communicate.
You can already fo most of those with add on software. (See freeware palm and palmgear for examples). The peoblem is not limited functionality. The problem is that Palm don't nmake people aware of this functionality in the first place.
It may be a new arcade platform, possibly with a home enthusiast version a la Neo-Geo---Sammy owns bits of Sega, all of SNK, the Neo-Geo itself is dying, and Sega is still heavily involved in the arcade business.
Sammy don't own SNK. Playmore own SNK. I also find this possibility unlikely for several reasons. There wouldn't be much point in an enthusiast system, since it would never be far enough ahead of the PS2 or Xbox to make it stand out. Sammy are also already heavily into promoting their Atomiswave arcade platform. Lastly, E3 is focussed on consumer platforms, not arcade hardware.
It may be something like Nintendo's "megaton" announcement---A game with dense appeal to the one target audience the quote was aimed at, and little to others. Candidates: New Sonic, new Shenmue, new Panzer Dragoon, English-language Sakura Taisen, new Phantasy Star.
Panzer Dragoon is a rail shooter. C'mon. I have every game in this series too, but the only notable one is Azel PS RPG/PD Saga. The shooters are Space Harrier with look and targeting, no matter how beautiful these games are.
You should try reading some of the threads on NTSC-UK about the dedication it takes to master PDOrta on the highest difficult. Or the threads on VGI's board that show just how much devotion Sega fan boys have to the Panzer Dragoon series.
For many Sega fans, the decision to buy an Xbox was made the minute a new Panzer Dragoon game was announced for it.
PDO may not fit your definition of a fanboy game, but the series undoubtedly has its army of fans who would follow it to the end of the earth. And those are just exactly the kind of people who would buy Metal Slug 3.
Although I'm probably not the best example, because I already bought Metal Slug 3 on the PS2 on Japanese import.
In theory, it's not allowed. The local Warner Village has a clear "no outside food" sign. But I walk in carrying a Sainsbury's bag loaded with munchies, and no-one bats an eye. I think UK cinema employes haven't grasped the evil money grabbing capitalist ethic. That's probably why all the small cinemas in the UK went bankrupt.;) For as long as I can remember, I've been stocking up at a nearby news agent in order to avoid the cinema food prices.
Sorry, but "shmups" was coined in the 1980s by the UK C64 magazine Zzap 64. It's been in use on the Internet amongst the shoot 'em up community since 1997 when it was resurrected by Malc, the founder of shmups.com.
Well, since I already have two of the Japanese releases, I'm actually looking forwards to the American releases, because it'll mean more songs to hammer away to.:)
No. The CDs are sold to the retailers by the record companies for more in Europe than in Asia. The price difference is so great, that even after shipping the CDs from Asia, and paying the requisite taxes, they can still sell them for UKP2 less than a company sourcing the CDs in Europe could.
I'm not so sure. I remember watching the crowd form on live television (on the BBC). For the first hour there weren't even any US troops involved, just a bunch of Iraqis trying to pull it down with ropes. There was US troops watching, but they stood well back until it was clear that their help would be useful.
If it was staged, why did they commit the blunder of hanging a US flag from the statue before replacing it with an Iraqi flag handed to them by someone in the crowd?
It was always clear from the shots shown that it wasn't a large crowd, but the mood was there none the less.
Final Fantasy VI was never released in the UK on the SNES, nor in the first run of the PlayStation FF Anthologies. It was released later as a single game for 10 (around US$15). 1999 sounds a bout right.
They get in trouble for political things like demonstrations- but in the USA when did that every make a difference?
I'm not too up on my American history, but I'd hazard a guess at the abolition of segregation.
Later.
They're certainly trying. Two upcoming games from Microsoft Game Studios Japan:
Phantom Dust - 3rd person action shooting game with Live multiplayer and customizable characters with a choice of 300 abilities.
Magatama (Demon Fang Spirit) - 3rd person slash 'em up being worked on by the lead programmer of Final Fantasy VII.
I regard Amped as one of Microsoft's inhouse successes too. Even if you prefer 1080, you have to accept that Amped is a serious contender for the title of best snowboarding game of all time. IMO, it is the best, but not everyone agrees.
I am an Xbox owner, and I want Shenmue III. The fact is, I bought the Xbox for JSRF, Gunvalkyrie, and Panzer Dragoon Orta, not Halo and Morrowind. While I also own a Cube and a PS2, I would prefer for it to go to the Xbox because of the system's aditional features over the other two systems. I'm sick to death of hearing that the Xbox is only any good for blood and guts games. The Xbox's foremost developer is Smilebit, and that's all there is to it.
The 6800 yen price includes a drum controller. It looks like a miniature version of the arcade controller aparently. And they're available separately for a second player.
Don't have the URL but the chip is called Origa chip. (Head on over to Google.) I have no intention of playing pirated games, but I wouldn't get it. Why? It doesn't allow import PlayStation games, only PS2 games, and it doesn't make the DVD player region free. I have also heard that it has trouble with newer games, but this may be untrue, 'cause solid information is thin on the ground. Messiah all the way. Same price, more features.
Me. It's cheaper and less hassle than Minidisc. And laziness is my top priority. Plus you tend not to get news and travel when you're listneing to your own recordings.
Hmmm... the local stations I listen to all sound fairly local. Weird. Tho early in the morning (before they have any DJs on) one of them uses syndicated news, but that's about it as far as I can see. Maybe things are different down in England.

You're right, this is the most likely.

Thanks very much for the link.

Wired can't have it I'm afraid.
Wait 'til Demon suspend the account for excessive bandwidth usage.
Yes, games can use it. Read the fucking article.

Uh, dude, it's Dead Or Alive Online. You know, the one Xbox game series that actually sells in Japan.

If you're going to post machine translations, at least use a decent translator. (J2E is the option.)

November.
I blame the parents.

You should also check out Border Down, coming soon to Dreamcast in September, and DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou out now for the PS2.
You forget that Agents are controlling humans, so when you kill an Agent, you kill the human it's controlling.

The PlayStation version of Metal Slug X streams the levels in as you go along aparently. They original PS Metal Slug had horrible mid-level loads tho.
