    I tell everybody who will listen to stay away from Lexmark and buy HP, regardless of the OS they use.

    Even my cheap HP 1018 printer, which is supposedly a "dumb winprinter", works perfectly on Ubuntu

    $349.00 USD is about a fourth of my monthly salary, or about a month's rent of a decent two bedroom apartment here in my city.

    Give a regular user a choice between free* Windows and Free* Linux, and they will choose Windows in a heartbeat.

    This is designed to get users to upgrade from WinXP to Win7 and not to Linux

    Abreu here reporting from Mexico City:

    Small kids and the elderly get the regular influenza vaccine for free every year in November and December*. So this could be a reason why these usually-vulnerable groups are resisting this virus a little bit better than young adults.

    * Because here, like in other civilized countries, we do have (semi)universal healthcare

    There is a British Airways 747 that flies everyday on weekdays between Mexico City Airport and London Heathrow. My buddies in the airport tell me it usually flies full.

    So yeah, this cat is out of the bag.

    And for what its worth, the first few cases were discovered in Texas and California, and only later detected in Mexico City

    Can't answer for EEE users, but I am happy to report that it works out of the box in my Acer AspireOne

    Network, Audio, Mic, Webcam, etc...

    Apparently the hot-plug issue for the right cardreader is still there, but it doesn't affect me since I only have SD cards, which work perfectly in the left cardreader

    Like the Universal Netbook Installer? Plug in your thumb drive, select a linux distro, and the program downloads the image, and copies it to your usb stick. Reboot your computer, and install.

    Indeed. What advantage would Windows 7 starter offer over Ubuntu Netbook Remix?

    Also, about installing an OS from a flash drive, remember the advances we have seen in OS install programs in the last 10 years.
    I am pretty sure there could be a program to sell cheap 1GB drives with different flavors of Linux preinstalled...
