I think Google and Amazon’s feud could jeopardize Net Neutrality.
While it’s one thing to want to avoid selling one another’s competing products, when you drag access to media content from Amazon Video and Google’s YouTube into the fray isn't that dangerously close to two network providers imposing restrictions over their respective content based on one’s network connection?
Device sales should not impose restrictions on media access any more than your ISP connection should.
Do you read much about cars? Turns out that Autoblog is definitely an improving brand amongst auto enthusiasts. Autoblog is one of the most quoted and referenced websites on the numerous (and growing) car forums on the net. This challenges the traditional vehicles of auto journalism such as MotorTrend, Car and Driver, and Road&Track. To claim a niche blog is not a brand ignores the very site you posted the claim on.
What exactly has HP done that would warrant such a statement?

There is no problem in the South. The South is growing at a rapid clip which is evidenced by new home sales, increased traffic, and an increasing number of jobs of varied skill levels. The economy there certainly does not 'suck' any more than other regions of the country during a recession. It is time to stop using the South as a punching bag and start acknowledging what has actually transpired there in the past 15 years as far as progress is concerned.
HP did *not* give up processor engineers, they sold a chipset group to Intel. The referenced story states that quite clearly. Why perpetuate misinformation?
What makes you think HP is getting out of the OS business? HP has major labs supporting and extending HP-UX all over the country. HP has also been instrumental in porting Linux to the IA64 platform. Dell doesn't have high-end computing solutions. Where in their line up is anything that compares to Superdome? Don't get me wrong, Dell is doing quite well in the pc business. However, this doesn't equate to being equal to HP as far as enterprise level equipment and solutions are concerned.

> I went to physics grad school and work in an engineering school. The engineers are not thinkers compared with physicists and mathematicians.
Oh, I understand. So that's why they are all working in the CS field?

What crappy products coming out of HP are you referring to?
