  1. Re:Doh! on JFS May Make It Into 2.4 · · Score: 1

The furthest along in Linux... JFS has been used on AIX for a Long Time Now(TM). Reiser FS doesn't have the huge install base and extensive testing that JFS has had. Of course RFS has been used with Linux longer... it's sort of a toss-up. On one hand, JFS is rock-solid, and just needs to be plugged in (though that isn't as easily said as done, due to fun AIX things that it was designed for), and on the other hand, RFS has had more Linux exposure, but it's hard to tell empirically whether or not it really works as well, or is as stable (it has other features, too, but I won't get in to that).

BTW - the site does not seem to be slashdotted. In fact, it loads very quickly - the article and other pages.

huh - never bought anything beside books from amazon, and that was only twice... By the way, the rest of your rant is really stupid. Blaming shareholders for wanting a little return on their investment reaveals the level of intellect you have. When you have thousands (or millions) of dollars invested in a company, you'd like to see them turn a profit, raise the share price, and pay dividends (apparently no one cares about that anymore). I'd say that long term investment strategy is a little more important than you saving three bucks on a DVD. If they make bad decisions, then so be it, but that's their problem, not yours.

Change your info on the site - make it useless or point back to them... If you can't, send them repeated mail that you need your account information deleted, and explain why. Explain calmly, and rationally what the problem is and if they don't remove your information, take further action against them (can anybody say class-action suit - "but they haven't actually *done* anything with our information yet", you say.) Watch them amend this 'privacy policy' every couple months until it says "all of the information you gave here will be posted for public viewing on invasion.privacy.amazon.com/$userid". Bastards.
