The furthest along in Linux... JFS has been used on AIX for a Long Time Now(TM). Reiser FS doesn't have the huge install base and extensive testing that JFS has had. Of course RFS has been used with Linux longer... it's sort of a toss-up. On one hand, JFS is rock-solid, and just needs to be plugged in (though that isn't as easily said as done, due to fun AIX things that it was designed for), and on the other hand, RFS has had more Linux exposure, but it's hard to tell empirically whether or not it really works as well, or is as stable (it has other features, too, but I won't get in to that).
BTW - the site does not seem to be slashdotted. In fact, it loads very quickly - the article and other pages.
Where would we be without Mr. Malda - we sure wouldn't be bitching about this article. He made it possible for us all to read, reject, and whine about every little thing (especially Steve Jobs being so high on the list).
They are probably just confusing substances like Mt. Dew, Jolt, espresso, and vi with controlled substances. I know I've made that mistake before. vi... iv... it all makes sense..............
huh - never bought anything beside books from amazon, and that was only twice...
By the way, the rest of your rant is really stupid. Blaming shareholders for wanting a little return on their investment reaveals the level of intellect you have. When you have thousands (or millions) of dollars invested in a company, you'd like to see them turn a profit, raise the share price, and pay dividends (apparently no one cares about that anymore). I'd say that long term investment strategy is a little more important than you saving three bucks on a DVD.
If they make bad decisions, then so be it, but that's their problem, not yours.
Slashdot sells my user info? Then they'd get the e-mail address of my spam collection account, my Karma score (-1 at the moment), and a whole lot of blank fields... hmmm, they'd also get my.sig;-)
Change your info on the site - make it useless or point back to them... If you can't, send them repeated mail that you need your account information deleted, and explain why. Explain calmly, and rationally what the problem is and if they don't remove your information, take further action against them (can anybody say class-action suit - "but they haven't actually *done* anything with our information yet", you say.) Watch them amend this 'privacy policy' every couple months until it says "all of the information you gave here will be posted for public viewing on invasion.privacy.amazon.com/$userid". Bastards.
I was against them before... now I'm going to go change my info to something totally useless and never visit again... You'd think that as privacy issues gain more and more of the limelight that these companies would start behaving themselves in a better way. Bah!
That's funny - all of the distros I've installed put the kernel source in/usr/src/linux by default... slack, rh, mandrake, debian... what distro are you using that doesn't install the source for you???
There's very little chance to be an individual in the/. herd. You are either a karma whore, troll, or just a waste of everyone's time. That's all people see here anyway. Listening to Katz will just further the brain washing and make you all subjects to his pseudo-world! He sucks!

Katz is the worst kind of idiot. He thinks that he is technically savvy, but he is just a big blowhard with no sense for people or technology... why do you think he writes these stupid trolling articles. It makes him feel good that somebody is dumb enough to think he knows something.

Remember, it wasn't so much the hydrogen in the blimp as the thermite covering on the balloon...
The S2000 is a nice looking car with some impressive #s... of course, that won't be running on a fuel cell anytime soon...

Soon it will be like Fred from GPF - a good read - better than UF lately, that's for sure.

but it is no longer his company - 'used to work for'... no reward. They take his IP (if it *is* even anyone's) and he gets nothing.

Huh... it put it on my system - what kind of install did you do? I used the CD (maybe you used ftp, so it didn't want to waste the time?)

I thought the monkey trip to Mars was pretty amusing... just the thing to fix those pesk bluescreens :)

I'm still waiting to M2... it'll take a few more people...

Andy Rooney's commentary about his aches and pains are far more insightful and interesting than anything that Katz has ever posted.
I'll admit, you write better than Katz, and probably have a lot more intelligence, but aren't nearly as effective as a troll.
>Don't worry, Jon. She didn't mean you. :) Yes she did, he's an ass.
