I recall alta vista quite well and I seem to recall a different reason for google becoming popular. It became popular because the search page and results were so lightweight and full of content instead of a bunch of crap you didn't care about.
Last I checked they did not charge for the approval process. And you could get a developer account for free if you agree to develop an app within 3 months or something. Otherwise the developer account was 19/year for an individual or 99/year for a company.
Heck I don't even like using or import statements and would rather fellow programmers type out the full classpath everywhere. I started doing that years ago and found it helps learn the full api and helps other more green programmers figure it all out quicker.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Sens. Rand Paul (R- KY) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today announced that they will be introducing the Invest in Transportation Act of 2015. This bipartisan legislation would extend the Highway Trust Fund, which supports millions of jobs. The bill would also boost economic growth and create jobs by providing an incentive for companies to bring back some of the estimated $2 trillion in foreign earnings that are being held overseas.
The legislation would strengthen the U.S. economy and create jobs by allowing companies to voluntarily return their foreign earnings to the United States at a tax rate of 6.5 percent. The rate is only for repatriations that exceed each company’s average repatriations in recent years, and funds must have been earned in 2015 or earlier. Companies would have up to five years to complete the transfer.
The measure would ensure that a portion of the repatriated funds will be used for increased hiring, wages and pensions; research and development, environmental improvements; public-private partnerships; capital improvements; and acquisitions. Under the bill, no funds could be spent on increases in executive compensation, or on increases in shareholder dividends or stock buybacks for three years after the program ends. Also, any company that inverts within 10 years of participating in this program would have to repay the tax incentive with interest.
All tax revenues from the repatriation program would be transferred into the Highway Trust Fund, helping to address the urgent federal funding crisis facing America’s highways, bridges, and transit systems.

Exactly which types of apps have you been unable to find for WP? I'm always looking for development ideas. WP is pretty darn easy to devel for if you have windows devel experience.

You are correct in that it shouldn't need to be debated as it should outright be LEGAL. A "living leader" of any country is just a person; they are no different than any of us. Your only logical position would be to make it illegal to make a movie about assassinating any living person.

And worth mentioning. If you look at the top 10 spending SuperPACs in the last cycle, you'll find that the left-leaning PACs outspent the right-leaning PACs by more than double.
The top 3 super pac disbursements this cycle were from the left: NextGen Climate, Senate Majority, House Majority. They spent over $160 Million combined
The next 3 were from the right: American Crossroads, Freedom Partners, Ending Spending Action. They spent less than half of what the left spent at $76 million combined
Rounding out the top 10 we have:
NEA Advocacy (left leaning) $18 Milllion
Congressional Leadership Fund (right leaning) $16 Million
Americans for Responsible Solutions (left leaning) $16 Million
Independence USA (left leaning) $15 Million

That was a bit confusing but I think you are mistaken. The article is talking about them announcing new tablets AND laptops. I think they are just pointing out that the laptops wont have a touch screen, but the tablets the OP is about will have one.

Heh, I actually did mean the latter. I used the term because he was the first guy I ever heard use it that way. It was raining and I suggested we bring in some chairs from under the rain to under our cover and that segued into his story...
I was having a safety meeting with a guy when he told me how he had been hit by lightning once on a construction site. I said, "what'd you do?" He said, "I got up and ran! The only thing I could think of was that I didn't want to get hit again!"
He seemed like a normal enough guy, but he was adamant about not wanting to get struck again, that's for sure.
Indeed, developing apps for blackberry is a pita -- at least it was the last time I did about 2 years ago. Win Phone apps are quite a breeze by comparison.

I had that problem at first as well; it turned out that it was turning on some new? feature called "Wi-Fi calling" by default. After I turned that off and set it to prefer cellular calling I had no more problems. 8.1 developer preview is great.

It says right in the summary that it is open to any software repository. I'd be surprised if CodePlex isn't supported immediately.
I've had nothing but a great experience with my Buffalo router preloaded with DD-wrt as well.
MS is making windows available at no cost for these small screen sizes.
