I'm also hoping they'll succeed but the cash burn has been so horrendous, it's hard to see how & when they'll turn a profit. That said, I give them full credit for beginning the move to EVs, which I've been calling the Tesla rEVolution for some time.
In 4 years in a 1000+ user environment, Seagate Barracudas were the #1 replaced drives, at least 2x more than WD or Seagate

By the time they were absorbed by Maxtor, yeah, they weren't ever going to be great again. But, holy shit, the Quantum Fireball 1Gbyte IDE was awesome. Far quicker than anything else at the time and mine lasted 6 years. For several years Boot Magazine, now Maximum PC, used almost nothing else in their testing rigs
Seems that have to do quite a lot of research & fieldwork for years & years to get to that point when they could do just as well or perhaps much better on the opposite side. Jason Box, Eric Rignot, Julienne Stroeve, et al spend a lot of time roughing it or freezing their asses off.
No single strategy is going to turn the tide but to be reasonable about everything is going to cost the Dems, the left & liberals a LOT. Despite the sound beating the GOP get in 2008, they turned the tables very quickly and the Dems have to do the same. The disadvantage the Dems have is that many districts in Red states or states with GOP governors are gerrymandered up the wazoo and getting courts to examine and overturn those is very time consuming. The Dems won't get control of redistricting until after the next census by which time Mango Mussolini and his cabal of liars, lunatics & enablers will have had many chances to do a lot of damage. Much as it galls me, following the GOP playbook of the Obama years may just be the way the game will have to be played for a while. Or, you can play to lose, which is very noble.
Remember when fax machines printed immediately so that anyone in the world could waste a few sheets of your paper? We didn't consider that a security issue either.
A few sheets? Ever heard of the Black Fax Attack? Pranksters used to loop black construction paper through fax machines so that the recipient would run out of toner or have their machine gummed up real good.
But why do you care? Why does anyone else? Trump is an asshole and a dope. Even most of the people who voted for him seem to be very ready to acknowledge this. Anyone who is still bemoaning his character criticizing the brass on the Titanic as being insufficiently polished.
It's insane that this is still going on not only after the election, but after the transfer of power. It was beating a dead horse 6 months ago, but apparently we need to pulverized the poor equine into molecule-sized bits. Again and again and again, Trump gets the mainstream media and the left yelling over irrelevancies whilst multiple bigger issues (not all, but many) slide under the radar. This isn't a neutral thing that's happening here. Every minute wasted on topics like this is a minute that could've been spent on substantive criticism.
Some have branded him a genius for this, but he's exhibited such doltish behavior elsewhere that this is seems extremely implausible. And yet it keeps happening.
Maybe on this one, specific tactic Trump is a genius. Maybe his business dealings has given him good instincts about how to exploit certain psychological flaws related to the bike shed effect.
Because he's not (yet) an Emperor and he didn't elect himself. Those of his supporters who claimed they were only trying to "shake things up" need to be reminded what they've done and we should NOT allow his behavior to become normalized or to treat him like some autistic savant. The Republicans who opposed him - the "Never Trumps" were NOT Democrats or liberals - but who now kiss the ring also need to be reminded - I hope enough that they'll look past their lust for power & at the character of the president to whom they fawn. Also, don't think that "beating a dead horse" has no impact; persistence often counts. Nearly all of the criticisms & "facts" that the GOP & rightwingnuts kept harping on about Obama were *entirely* fictional and they made 5 MILLION of his voting base vanish in just 4 years - and triggered the LARGEST EVER change of House seats in just TWO. Of course voter suppression played a role but wasn't the only factor.
Yes. If only they did some kind of testing with those rocket engines so they could evaluate their performance before they launched them.....like maybe put them on a test stand and run them and then take them apart to see how they did.
Very worthwhile testing no doubt but still a pale substitute for actually launching & retrieving them
"If he wanted to get richER, then an aerospace company would have been about the worst possible way to do that" And became the major backer and then the CEO of an AUTO company around the same time - another great way to turn a large fortune into a small one even if you weren't trying to make fully electric cars.
And the ban extended to citizens of other countries with dual nationality with those countries so Canadians, Brits, Europeans were also affected. And American residents with visas and some who've had green cards for many years.
"Who gives a fuck?" Trump does, many, many fucks. The stupid asshole went in front of the CIA, stood with his back to their wall of nameless but honored dead and whined about how nobody believed how big, beautiful, fantastic & historic his inauguration audience was.

The usage of "America First" is definitely worrisome and the entire tone of speech was dark, dank & rank. Whatever to the GOP POTUSes who spoke of America in glowing terms? The shining city on the hill? The rising nation? There were Mexicans & decrepit infrastructure back then, too.
If declaring your inauguration day a "national day of patriotic devotion" was not seriously out of the ordinary then the US would have had one of those for 300 years.
Could you GET a more Banana Republic move ? All he is missing is the Khaki-Uniform with the dozens of medals and the beret. He already has the cigars.
Much as I dislike the man, I'm going to give him a pass on this one. Other presidents, incl Obama, have issued similar proclamations to mark their inaugurations. But his statement on showing off the military? Yeah, that's Great Dictator / Springtime for Hitler crap. All that would be missing is a special salute and trademarked dance steps.
