    Apple last time I checked, wasn't supporting apple serial printers, which sucks big time. My style writer 2500 works just fine, but can't use under OS X. Apple officialy is only going to support USB/firewire printers, apple sucks for that. I tried a cheapo apollo 2500, which is USB, it shows that its an apollo printer and then says its unsupported. So now I'm going to end up spending 2x as much to get an HP, not to mention then by my seperate USB cable. Oh and by the way I was rejected for a similar topic last month. 2002-02-24 00:22:06 OS X is not new, still lacking basics (apple) (rejected)

    Here in wisconsin our cable service is road runner. And the commercials for the service basically show two of the characters using the internet at the same time. They advertise multible computers online. Given that they only give you one modem and one IP, how can they then discurage NAT???

    The question was if they(meaning palm not Be) were going to release any(meaning a part or portions) of the code. Palm could release some of the code, because they now own it, if they have no use for it. Think of all the good press they would get, I'm sure if palm did release some code, it would be on the front page of /.

    Those things are expenseive, $1,000 a year??? And from what I've seen the software from MSDN CD's are full blowen versions with help sections and all, but I could be wrong. The software I'm talking about came with the VB book. But ya can't knock those MSDN CD's, I love having win2000 pro, win2000 server, and win2000advanced server on ONE CD.

    Your estimate uses "Visual Studio .NET Professional - Full Packaged Product" But the original post says they are giving out the academic version, which is often stripped down. Hence not worth the $1079 you claim. I have a student version of VB 6.0 and it doesn't even have the help files, real smart of MS to not put the help files in the student version, duh.

    No I'm not trolling, I've been to Emulators online web site before. I think it was a year ago, or darn close to a year ago. They've been saying they are close to a g3/g4 emulator for that long, about a year. As far as I can tell this is vaporware. I just gave up waiting for the emulator and got a G3 to play with OS X. As much as I would like this to be real, cuz I'd rather just emulate the G3/G4. I agree with the other post, I won't belive it untill I or someone trustable, sees it in person.

    The best way to block spam is stop html email. Nobody I know sends html stuff, just quick txt notes. Now if only outlook could do that.(yes gotta use outlook at work, and yes i get spam at work)

    Its just like the insurance industry, the age group under 25(i think) has a much higher insuance rate than those past that age. While the statistics do appear to favor that, there is a MUCH tighter corrilation between accidents and number of years driving, than age. Obviously the relationship is the less years driving the more likely to have an acceditne. It just happens to be that most new drivers are under 25. Basically screwing those who start driving at 16 compared to someone who starts at 23.

    I mean, word perfect for linux didn't run at all on redhat or mandrake. After spending serious cash on the package I expected to work fairly well on a tuned system. And for all you linux zealots out there, I tried the message boards and chat rooms. Web sites that claimed to have the answer to the problme, well they don't work, and several have totally different steps to solve the problem. All the people out there bitched at me for not using kword or abiword or whatever. And Corel did nothing but redirect me to the Xandros, don't I get a little support, like when I buy a boxed redhat dist? Anyway, point is, I'm glad to see this part go down.
    Mark me a flame or a troll, if you must, but I speak the truth.

    My local shop, milwaukee PC(milwaukeepc.com) will NOT sell me a system with blank hard drive. And boy did I try, I called/stopped in a dozen time talking to different people, and they won't give a system out without a HD full of crap. Nor will they sell a system without a harddrive. They suck, I'm switching to mac, have you seen the latest imac(apple.com) it rocks! OK, maybe I can't drop x86ers completly, but MPC does suck.

    I am currently running an updated 486 @ 100mhz with 24MB ram. running redhat 7.x it runs fine with under 30MB or ram, only problem is its like 300megs of hard disk, with mininmal packages installed. Makes all those 100 meg drives around useless.

    A close friend had two sewing needles, closer to toothpicks than the spears that knitting needles are, impounded. They also took the twezers, like someone could have there eyebrowes picked to death or something. But I suppose, it depends on several factors, what security droid on what day at what airport decides exacly where the line is drawn.

    Considering the size of MSOE you'd might have more luck waiting for another library in the system to get it then borrowing it from them. Catch is you have to wait a few days for transportation. But if it's on CD-ROM I bet it'll be avalivble on the web long before that. Look for links below.

    I go to the site and all I see is a bunch of pics which link to larger versions of said pics. With text at the bottom, being w/o a linux drive working all I can do is look through XP. Is the site changed or is it not really a slide show??? If I had my linux drive not die would i be able to boot that up and see an error, or was there a neat slide show taken down???

    But you still have to run power, and for a few things other wires wired controls, or speaker wires. Unless you have a generator under the TV it is still pointless.

    Those of us waiting for live!ware 3.0 to extend the use of live!drives have been waiting for the release e-mail for months, and their web site hasn't changed. Yes the CD is for windows, and Yes i have to use it for work/games, so get over it. If you have a live!drive you know how badly the release is needed.

    The people who make the big bucks are often, not always, the ones who take the risk. This has been said before in the music RIAA discussions. The developers get a salary, they sit work get paid, usually for a guaranted about. If said company goes under, its the guys up the chain that bit the bullet the developers are just looking for a new job, being they still got paid for the time they did work.

    HP makes both DVD-RW and DVD+RW...make sure you know what you are talking about...the DVD+RW is the individual drive, DVD-RW is what they put in their built systems. Go to any circuit city and check out the build it yourself station, and build an HP P4, no price limit, the top system will have a DVD-RW drive.

    I work in computer sales, so i should know. Cost of most home purchased printers $50-200. Cost of ink(~$40) over 5 years, replacing ink once a year, black + color, 80 * 5 = 400. So you pay like 2x for the ink vs the printer.
