    Actually, either solution would be a good sign to me. Using the built-in library shows a knowledge level with prebuilt tools.

    Not relevant to this story. That quote is about people surrendering rights because they think the net effect will be safety. This is like your postman steaming open your envelopes and claiming he's only looking for anthrax. Nokia users aren't volunteering their secure channels to get some level of protection.

    Let me clarify. What I mean is an alternative to console hardware to host your console OS. So, you can buy your X-box or a more compact tablet version. I didn't see that price tag, which isn't appealing to me. But, I'd consider a bigger tablet-sized handheld gaming console (not those little pocket ones).

    I don't know about your other examples, but evolution wasn't. It was an idea that had already been partially explored. The reason Darwin even published Origin of Species was because another scientist was about to publish a similar work.

    IANAP, but I took a modern physics class eons ago and took away from it that there's never really a massive shift in thinking. There's always some other base of knowledge that might not get the respect or acknowledgement of the general public. Newton derived from Kepler even as Liebniz [sic] worked on the same concepts. Einstein had Maxwell to springboard off of. The shifts seem to be public perception of some wild-haired genius toiling in solitude on his way to the next discovery.

    IANAL, but everything I've read so far says that all this is going to do his hamper the investigation. Plus, some of the "evidence" has been presented in a false context. Had they provided the information discreetly to law enforcement instead of their usual public self-gratification, maybe this would have done some good.

    I've heard similar figures as well. The overhead for building in the US isn't as huge as you'd think. Actually, the overhead for many alternatives to cost-saving measures (like illegal immigrant workers in lieu of Americans) isn't as high as we've all been lead to believe.

    I've seen quite a few documentaries were this animal is discussed, but no scientists ever had the footage. The neatest attempt I'd seen was sticking a camera to a sperm while and watching its pod descend, but unfortunately it became dislodged before they found any prey.

    the closest we can get is to in first grade teach boys and girls Dance (continue as each has Talent) to get both boys and girls used to seeing each other in minimal clothing and not thinking sexually (bonus it teaches them how to MOVE).

    Good luck with that! I'm almost 40 and I can barely pull it off when they're fully dressed...

    There were about 15 IT grads in my class; 2 were girls and only one showed up for graduation of about 10 of us. The one who showed up graduated summa cum laude so she was no slouch obviously. Now, here's the weird thing. I've *never* seen her before in any of my classes! I don't know if she was on long path or was waiting some time to graduate when she could with honors, or what.

    This was a VERY legitimate concern back then as it was for racial and economic segregation. The white male schools would get the better teachers and facilities because girls "only needed to learn to be home makers."

    I agree that separate boy and girl schools (as well as uniforms!) would be a great idea.

    I had a software ethics class last semester and the patent wars created by ambiguous patents are far worse that the situation before hand. Plus, the only people winning are the trolls. Even the megacorporations like Apple and Microsoft with massive patent portfolios are sinking tons of capital into their offensive and defensive campaigns.
