But, something must be very off-putting about the guy in person. Maybe he's just an awkward person. I remember a news story about some debate where a bunch of candidates were in the bathroom talking about how much they all hated him and how they were determined to see him not get the nomination. We all have our quirks, but it's strange when someone's personality can universality flip certain switches.
I'd like to meet the guy just to see what the deal is. I doubt we'll ever see the real him in this campaign.
The author specifically modeled it on MVP to maintaining a strict separation of concerns. Presentation and model don't co-mingle. Might seem a bit unusual at first since the language will seem limited at first. But, it'll keep you from running into the "bloating script" problem.
I'm not a historian, physicist, or engineer so I'm going off of my layman's interpretations. But, we kind of had parallel "space" efforts with our rocket planes like the X-51 that lost out to rockets. Had we not gone with massive, wasteful brute force rockets and gradually transitioned into space with reusable rockets and aerospace planes, maybe we'd have grown our space program more organically from high altitude flights, to LEO, to the moon?
Europeans live on an infrastructure that supports pedestrian life. So, there's more likelihood for walking past magazine stands and making those impulse buys. The only time I ever see magazines is if I happen to pass by that aisle in the grocery store. And, some mags I admit I *would* buy on an impulse if I were exposed to them more often even though they're not topical enough for me to google for. For example, tonight was was in the grocery store and passed an aisle while waiting for my GF. I was thumbing through the guns and hunting mags and given a few more minutes I might have picked one up.
That's when the American business school ethic takes over. No right or wrong, legal or illegal, no such thing as pride in workmanship or quality; just whatever it takes to make the books look good for the next quarter. And, if it's illegal hope you're not the sorry sucker holding the bag before you get a chance to cash out.
I looked at his comments and I don't feel the outrage we're getting bombarded with on Slashdot. Especially over a 25K online petition. Believe me, I have a lot of problems with Dodd's cozy relationship with the financial industry (probably what's driving him out of the Senate), but this is hardly one of them.

That's a beautiful example of how nomenclature in IT can confuse a civilian. I don't blame the employee at all for coming to that conclusion. I just bought a printer that prints in "duplex" mode. Now, that's something so common that it should not be using a software engineer's term. Can you imagine a parent or grandparent trying to get double-sided copies and only seeing "duplex"?
"OK, the bill the industry wrote for us won't pass mustard, so we've got to come up with a new strategy to package this s**t sandwich. Renaming worked for Blackwater. Too bad we already used the name "Patriot Act". Hmmm, can we tie this into child rape and terrorism somehow? Think people, there are billions in campaign donations and post-Congress salaries on the line!"
It's not Google per se, it's the amoral business school ethic being pushed at any publicly traded company. I knew this would start happening as soon as they had their IPO. When you've got upper and middle managers who think anything legal (or just illegal enough to tie up in courts for years) is justifiable in the name of profit, then crap like this happens. And, with every person with a 401k in the country cheering on CEOs for matching quarterly estimates, it'll never change.
Looks like the phase-out already started. I set up a computer for my parents over the holidays and we had to drive all over to find one. Only one I found was an overpriced gold-plated Radio Shack model.
It'll be a sausage fest of geeks with bad enough social skills. How about we through in some poisonous snakes and asbestos insulation since we're going to torture these kids?
I've got lots of problems with the way Obama has continued Constitutional violations, but using drones has nothing to do with the Bush Doctrine. In fact, they're probably a better options for both sides since we don't have to deploy scout teams to get the localized, loitering recon that we used to. The smart bet has always been to go covert when it comes to dealing with terrorism. You can't declare war on 100 religious zealots hiding in the desert.
They're Right-to-Work (without benefits) states and they've been enticing European companies for a while now. Why pay a union guy $20/hr with benefits when you can pay a Southerner $10/hr who will also vote to make sure you keep his pay and benefits low?
Or are Slashdot posters that infatuated with nuclear? Seems like no matter what news comes out on that disaster, we've got apologists crawling out to explain how we don't need to worry about it and any concerns are the ignorant fears of the anti-nuke brainwashed.
At this time of year? Everyone is expecting tax returns so your idea would fail hard!
Google for some bad plastic surgery pics and get back at us.

They've already hustled the investors.

Well, the stealth fighter was 70s era technology sold to the public as next generation after it was nearing obsolescence.
Thanks for the correction. NO thanks for the visual lol
Clearly, Jesus does not like South America, and by implication the pagan parade of sin and debauchery that is Carnivale. Repent!

Thanks Captain Obvious and Boy Wonder, but I needed one THAT DAY.

IP did a good job getting your packets here, jerk!
You realize that monopolies are consistent with Free Market theory, right? It's evil socialist regulations that stop monopolies from forming.
They're called "accidents" Mr. Douchbag
