the game really isn't worth all the hype. They originally wanted to make it unlike all other RTS games, going towards their new invention 'RPS'. Well, I guess somewhere along the line they decided that idea sucked, and now what we're looking at is a heavily toned down version of starcraft with new 3d graphics that look like they could have come out around the same time. There are a few things about it that are 'neat', but, to try and make it so you focus more on your hero, you maybe only have like 7 possible buildings you can create, and there isn't a whole lot of variety.
The game got very old very fast after 3 days. NWN on the other hand...
Hm, yes, the only thing Blixa has going for him anymore are his ear piercing horse screeches. EN's music nowaday's is more like something you'd see on Bravo than the noisy industrialists they once were. Seems to be the common path for all innovators actually, to do a 180 and end up doing what they once were against.
Before I actually went to the site, I thought they were referring to William Bourrough's work.. Can you imagine Naked Lunch redone by the producers of The Mummy?
I'd like to see the Rock play a mugwump

Hm, I think I'll agree with you 100% on this. The first language I learned was Perl, and then I decided to move on to C - Big mistake.
I remember really liking the Ducktales game for NES back in the day. I've also heard some good things about the Donald Duck game for Playstation 2, though I wouldn't know since I'm not really down for consoles anymore.
Hm, I don't know if I like the idea of GPL'ing my music. Sure I'd like it to be free to the world, but I don't know if I'd like people using my riff's or whatever in their own song.
Hey, that Open Secrets site has all sorts of interesting information on it. Infact, did you known that Adrian Carmack of ID Software contributed $2,000 to the Bush election campaign, and then another $5,000 to the Bush Florida Recount campaign?
This site is great, you can dig up dirt on anyone, like who contributed funds to the communist party in america, etc.
Even though the movie was really bad, I think the 80 year old guy got the idea for this company (clone dead pets) from the Schwarzenegger movie "The Sixth Day".
If this 'hack' is involving connecting to someone's ip via your web browser on port 1214, this is hardly a hack. It just shows the files listed in their already 'Shared Folder', no more no less.
If you thought this conference was bad, obviously you didn't catch the David Letterman impersonator at Comdex this year spouting out a mock Top 10 list of projected internet growth.
Bah battle bots are a toned down, jocked up version of Survival Research Laboratories, who started in I believe the early eighties However, from what I understand they have a bit of trouble putting on evrnts in the United States because of all the injuries in the audience.
here's an excerpt from their web page on one of the newer robots:
Track Robot
The Track Robot, similar to the devices used by police and military to defuse explosives, and the Button Panel machine with flailing arms, were constructed for the Japan event at the ICC. Using a tetherless control and video transmission system the Track Robot can be operated remotely through a standard internet browser window. The Button Panel device can relay control signals through a serIal port to other machines.
along with:
Flame Whistle
The Boeing Jet was modified for the Austin event by the addition of a large police whistle. Fuel injectors were added along with an ignition system, therby creating the loudest flamethrower in history.

I was actually going to moderate some posts in this topic until I discovered all 5 points would be wasted in 'Redundant'
Be sure to check out the Spider-Man the Movie game, as the entire thing is narrated by Bruce himself.

Why can't all languages be as nice as Perl?
Duh, just another example of Linux trying to copy Windows. Microsoft released this a long time ago, only it was called IIS.

I've created a new Slashdot Icon for Gnome that I'd like to propose. It can be seen at the following location:
. jp g

And people give Dan Berstein a hard time?
Hell, I use pico -wz.
I could care less about features, I just want the job to get done without having to learn another interface.

Jesus christ, IT'S NOT FUNNY. STOP IT!!!!!!!!
actually... it was van gogh who gave the ear. :)
