That's not what the market is showing. Android adoption is growing and growing and for the average person they don't really care or know how the versions are different. They only care if they can do instagram, facebook, and Angry Birds. Those of us who really do care won't wait and will upgrade manually by some other method.
Microsoft hasn't exactly had a stellar upgrade history so far.... Apple sure bot they really only push updates to 2 models and everything else gets left behind so it is easy for them.
It is my hardware I want to do what I like with it. I don't mind so much if the carriers are slow to roll out updates if I can do it myself. It may not have matter to people who don't know what it is but you will get a lot of support from the people who do know what it is.
If I don't use my phone for anything other than to make a few calls my phone will last for days also. I am talking about having a phone with a screen on time of more than 3-4 hours. My hour and a half train ride really sucks it out of my phone. I have heard good things about the Galaxy Nexus though.
So what would you suggest they do? The project is open source so anybody can use it and do as they please. As a consumer you can vote with your wallet and only support companies that update their devices in a timely manner. Samsung seams to be on the right track since they are trying to release fewer devices and have a more consistent hardware experience across all devices. But if you really want a device that is going to be running the latest version that it can support then buy a Nexus device.
While my WIFI Xoom is not a nexus device it was a developer device and that is why I bought it. It will be receiving Android 4.1 in a couple weeks.
Samsung picks off what is left? They get more credit than that. But anyway the secret to moving a lot of phones is pretty simple I don't know why they don't do this.
Unlock the boot loader out the door give us stock Android and if you have to add your special sauce put it as an add-on app / launcher you can install from a special store. Give us good battery, I don't care if the phone is a little thicker but I want a battery that lasts all day.
Extra points for solid construction. Also if I can get a 7" tablet for $199 I should be able to get a unsubsidized phone for that much. I know that the radio adds cost but I figure a screen that is 1/4 the size should make up for that.
While companies need to enforce their patents to protect their IP Apple and Microsoft use them to bully others because they can't compete on their products own merits. Software patents need a much shorter expiration date. I would say a patent is invalid after 4 years (even that is too long).
Especially when they are going after HTC for things like contextual menus. "Oh that's a phone number would you like to call it?" or I see you have two browsers which would you like to open the link in and would you like it to be your default?". It's not like that shit hasn't been around fir years... oh wait.

I live in kanagawa and commute to Shinagawa and on my daily commute there is a good 30 min where data is iffy at best. That is even when I have a "good signal" so there is something weird going on there.
So was it salted or just an hash? Without a salt they have all of the passwords pretty easily. They might as well as store the passwords in plain text at that point.
How is it I can never seam to get karma but this blatant troll post can get so many up mods? Oh well but back to the point. I think that Apple will need to do something very quickly. The iPad2 better add more to the game than just front and back facing cameras or they are doomed after all of these Honeycomb tablets come out.
My wife has an iPad and the one thing that I haven't seen on the Android market is quality apps like Pages and Numbers. I don't need them so I will be getting an Android one when Honeycomb tablets are available but she will probably stick with the iPad.
I don't see why everyone thinks IOS is so awesome all it is a bunch of shortcuts on a desktop geared towards people who have a million icons on their computers desktop and if its not there it doesn't exist.
You can do everything using Linux for a lot cheaper but I believe what I have recommended will give you easier manageability if you are not a Linux expert. Plus it is all industry standard tech.
I would recommend buying a couple of these for your storage and offsite backup (it has a lot of great features check the link)
Qnap TS-559+ Turbo NAS
http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=163
Then get 2 decent HP DL360's with lots of RAM. (check your warranty and decide how many hours you are willing to be down waiting for a part, VMware should make this not as much of an issue though since it is clustered)
1 less powerful HP server for a backup server with Veritas for backup software and a LTO4 backup library (size depends on how much data)
Get 2 gigabit switches.
Install VMware ESX on both servers and cluster them.
Carve out some storage from your NAS and connect via iscsi to ESX.
As far as directory administration goes I would use MS Active Directory 2x virtual domain controllers.
As far as a Web server goes a simple virtual LAMP server should work great.
If you have money left in your budget use another Windows server license for a print and file server otherwise you can use the NAS
This will give you lots of room for growth. If you need another server you can bring up a virtual server in 10 min or less from a template.
As far as the desktop software goes you will need to make sure everyone has a version of Windows that can join a domain.
As far as email exchange can get messy for a novice so I would recommend just using Google Apps for email. Now you can even manage Blackberry phones and Google Android phones through it. For 20 people I don't think it is worth it to host your own email.
That is because Mac is running a Unix like OS. My Dell Laptop is in the same boat as your Macbook but I run Linux and probably spent half what a Mac with similar specs would have had. Unix like OS's tend to stay pretty fast.
CyanogenMod is pretty awesome and it is available for most Android phones so you don't need to wait for the carrier updates. Also if you just root the phone you can remove any application you like.
My HTC magic is a bit underpowered now that there are so many phones with 1GHZ processors but it takes a beating I can't even remember how many times it has had a bad fall. The screen is perfect plastic case just is a bit scuffed up.
The movie is an abomination of a great series of books. Read the books first then to get a better perspective on things please step inside the total perspective vortex.

The author of the review didn't install the RC the wallpaper is pretty evident of that. He must have downloaded the wrong ISO. I just did a fresh install of x64 10.10 RC and I had the options to install MP3 and flash from the installer. It all worked just fine.
I did have to install the nVidia drivers after I logged in hopefully they will work those into the installer by the time it hits final.

huh, maybe that is why they are trying to leverage those patents .... they are about to expire ...

Don't you know, flat rectangular is an innovative design ...

Most gratuitous use of the word "fuck" in a serious Slashdot post.
I wish I had points to give you

It has a great interface for TV's and they have remote control apps that run on phones and tablets.

this is an exploit to gain "root" (administrator) access not a rootkit which is a malicious program built to hide itself from the operating system.
