Why don't you go fuck off.

If you you're saying "Who gives a fuck" perhaps you shouldn't be reading slashdot, because its rather obvious that a large portion of slashdots readership is VERY interested in IPv6.

Not only that, IPv6 is a standard feature in Linux, the BSD's, MacOSX, Windows XP, Cisco, etc.

It IS the future of the internet, whether you fucking like it or not. So accept it.

    Mmmm, gigabit......

I am sure you can get 2 gigabit ethernet nics at a decent price, get some cat5e or cat6 or whatever it is you need (gigabit uses all 8 wires; 4 pairs, not just 2 pairs like 10mbit and 100mbit) and you are set.

The orinoco card works down to the street, past the 4 units out the front (we're a house behind 4 units).

Really amazing how much further that little orinoco can go. And i have several orinocos (gold, bronze, white), they all have that range.

There is a program called Daemon Tools.

It runs on Win95/98/ME, and NT4/W2K/XP.

It'll mount .iso images, cdrwin, clonecd, and other cd and dvd images. It also emulates various cd copy protection schemes.

Programs/apps/games think its a real CD in a real CD-Rom drive, because it installs a 'virtual SCSI card', and 'virtual SCSI CDrom/DVDrom'. Its as real as it can get. But the driver doesn't talk to actual physical hardware, it just talks to a file on your local or remote filesystem.

So. Use CloneCD (or whatever, but clonecd is definitely best) and image all your kids' CDs onto the linux server. And use daemon tools to mount the cd images over samba.

I hardly use any CDs anymore. I have literally 100s of CloneCD image's on my fileserver, and just mount them using Daemon-Tools over Samba.

    You will LOVE this program!
