Why does everyone bring up swing? What about AWT and SWT? SWT looks the same as native components on any of the platforms. Eclipse uses it. IBM uses it in some of their stuff. We use SWT in our java projects here at work.

  2. I wish... on LibreOffice 3.5.1 Released With Fixes · · Score: 1

I wish they'd improve the Base application. It's horrendously slow and clunky and has a horrible interface. I can't stand that I have to right click on the table name and hit paste to paste data into a table, rather than just doing it directly in the the table view editor (the way most people would think to do it).

I can't help but think of how depressed I would be with the irony if I were in this situation. I'm so poor and don't have money, but the government was kind enough to bring some to me and let me watch it burn.

  6. 50K is low? on The 'Cable Guy' Now a Network Specialist · · Score: 1

Since when is 50K a low salary? I know programmers with CS degrees that get paid less than that. I also know professional AV specialists that do network and av drops that only get paid about 40k a year. 50K is pretty good for a skilled labor job if you ask me. They're not engineers or scientists, so they don't get engineer and scientist pay. They get damn good technician pay.

  7. Re:Obligatory on Go Daddy Reverses Course On SOPA · · Score: 1

I transferred my domains out of Go Daddy today. I don't care if they've "changed" their stance on SOPA. They supported it before and that's terrible enough. It would be interesting to see just how many domains they lose because of this.

It doesn't sensor search results. It censors search suggestions. The title of that article is intentionally misleading. People who still want to search for TPB or isohunt still can just fine, they just have to finish typing the whole word now. I know entering 5 more key strokes can be a daunting task, but you can still search. I think of it as a nice was for google to kiss some corporate media ass (considering they do content provision now) without actually affecting the people who still want to search for these sites.

I'm fat as hell and I've been able to get plenty of dates and relationships online with thin people. Although a lot of people do care about weight, you'd be surprised how many don't care and really just want someone who can hold a conversation.
