aww man.. this isn't cool anymore.. This man is the root of all evil.. With him, everything in the world is broken down into something he owns, or something that is compitition and must be destroyed. Why can't he just sit down, relax, and enjoy the technology, for gods sake, he doesn't have to worry about where his next meal is coming from or anything.
maybe people want to work on it simpley because of the fact that people find it interesting.. why do you want people to work on the GUI so much instead of this project? youd make a great coordinator considering you know whats best and what projects people should work for.
actualy I think your wrong.. RedHat really is the easiest to install. Take autoboot for instance.. what other distro has an installation program which boots right out of dos. IE. cd g:\dosutils; autoboot. and from there you select 'workstation' and its isntalled.. how much easier does it get?
there are a couple things which makes me wonder... The only cd option for a linux box is a "17/40X IDE CD-ROM for Windows NT" what the hell is that.. Also, the price at first looks steap because by default, they are packing a 21 inch moniter with it.. by selecting a 17 inch moniter, it automaticly reduces the price by like $400.
All in all though, I did a side by side comparison of two boxes... One with win(lose)NT and one with Linux. The linux box came out to be 200 bucks cheaper... not that bad really. But, I also noticed how they didnt have nearly the amount of options as they had for the loseNT boxes... Raid being one of them.
Thats just like when MS lawyers had that whole big fiasco with seeing how fast windows 3.1 could get on the internet as apposed to win98 or something.. and it turns out the win98 machine was using a better modem.. The lawyers responce to this was, that it was 'acedemic'.. and he repeated the word 'acedemic' like 2 times.. just what in the hell does the word 'acedemic' mean in that sentence?? all it was, was a big word to make it sound like they were realy smart, when in truth they were cought with their panties around their ankles
why dont we see what happens

Calm down.. do you think any of these finance people watching the show will give one shit or another about these details only a geek would scoff at? The only thing that matters now is that thousands of people have just learned a new word on wednesday night.. that word is 'Linux'
You guys were watching this CNN report and were expecting them to lists all of its technical facts?? It's financial channel, They are not catoring to the slashdot people.. They are catering to all the finance people.. why do you think they singled out Redhat.. its a company to watch.
Ok.. when you minimize, the icons dont appear by default.. they do not just disappear to nowhere.. you have to get e-conf and have it make an icon by default when you minimize
Maybe people should just learn to not flame Gnome or KDE and be happy with having both of them in the linux community.. that is.. also an option, which is sorely overlooked.
nah.. this is the commercial

Linus I mean, not Linux
Linux uses the term 'interesting' at least once in all the speaches, writings, talks ive ever heard him give.
