While your numbers may be true (I'm honestly too lazy to look it up), that still wouldn't mean 50% of Internet users were using AIM, just that they'd have a screen name automatically made or whatever because they had an AOL account.
So it seems unlikely to you that Amazon would allow publishers to provide ebooks to OverDrive in Kindle-compatible MobiPocket format? Perhaps you should think that through a few more times.
My strong connections to the USA involve having been born here and lived here my entire life... and I don't remember AIM ever being a big deal...
How is this article even news? It's more like, "hey, remember that time I made make believe and pretended AOL was ever anywhere near as ubiquitous as Facebook?!?!"
Perhaps you're not aware of this, but Amazon already has the huge market share. This is a move to introduce feature parity with competition while they are still the runaway leader in the industry, rather than when someone has closed the gap to 50% or something.
Those screensaver images do get boring REALLY fast. Sadly, that feature was almost as much of a selling point when I pre-ordered this thing as the $25 price difference.
Whoosh.
What would "free will" even mean? Yes, they're independent concepts, but the non-existence of both does tell you something.

I never see people using tablets, but there are Kindles all over the fucking place here. Usually at least 2-3 people on a bus will be using one.
Finally, a good point about these figures. Too bad you had to waste it by posting AC.
Awesome! Just gotta wait an eternity for 2011 new releases to be on there. Hopefully Congress will allow their copyrights to expire by forever.
"Free Kindle books are excluded and if included would make the number even higher."
Try those reading skills again, Nancy.

I just tried, however it appears that my copy of Internet Explorer is too old.
You can run X in this thing? OMFG!!!
mmmmmm porkchop sandwiches
This is awesome!
"Boy Love" doesn't describe it well enough for you? What the fuck do you think the "B" in "NAMBLA" stands for?
Everyone on the Internet? Yes, I would think that they should by now.
It won't. It's a waste of money that's not going to do anything to further education at that school and will likely do some harm.

Not sure how that's unethical. Also not sure it's illegal. But I'm not a lawyer, so I'll leave that one be.

You, sir, have just won the Internet for the day.
The planet's too damned hot already. We need to cool this bitch down. And in MY lifetime, not that of the grandchildren I'm never going to have.
Until you install Apple's new photo editing program and it deletes everything, right?
Who cares about Apple? The world is better off without them.

Obviously it's yy/mm/dd! Were you raised by wolves or something?
