Look here, contrary to what some Americans believe the world is a revolving globe and /. tries to be a 24/7 experience.
So it's only natural that depending on where the sun is out, Asia and Australia, Europe, the America's, we get localised content, plus, you don't need to read it!

Yes it stinks that companies are abusing the H-1B visa system at the expense of the people that helped make them successful

But Americans that claim the Democratic party is left have a warped idea of politics, on a world scale your Democrats are fully right of center.

But specifically these hi-tech billionaires are way more progressive (forward thinking) than the conservatives in the Republican party and would never want to be associated with creationists, a Tea Party, Bush family or the likes of Trump.

You don't need to call each and every company into court, you take one and write a judgement and it will be declared 'jurisprudence' meaning any similar case is judged by the same ruling.
It's for the next court to figure out what 'similar' means.

  17. Your right :)

  18. With that type of energy abuse you must be living in the USofA.

I live in a tree story, four bedroom house and my total electricity consumption is about 1000kWh per year, that's on average less than 3kWh per day.
A couple of years ago I had two guests stay 6 months and it almost reached 1500 kWh.

  19. That's why this is the first such plant in Morocco (and the rest of North Africa).
    Give them some time.

PV only works when the sun is out, this thermal plant continues for hours after sunset on it's reserves of molten salt.
And it would be fairly simple tech to increase the reserves to cover the whole night.

  21. We only need a couple of 100 km2 to cover all energy needs of Europe, that's a speck in the Sahara that runs some 5,500 km east-west and 2000 km north-south.

  22. Even if you covered every square inch of the planet in solar panels, you still couldn't generate enough power to meet demand.

Last year solar energy passed the 1% of Global energy demand and when I look around me we have more than 99% of area remaining.

Have a look at this article, it explains world-wide demand is met by a surface area comparable to Spain:

    http://www.techinsider.io/map-...

  23. Europe is more than Spain.
Spain has the available land and sun to build similar, as a matter of fact since 2007 they have their own thermal plant called PS10.
At the moment they have over 50 such stations of about 50MW each.

  24. Morocco has a total land area of 446,550 km2 (110 344 908 acres).
This plant occupies less than 25 km2 so there is space for a few more.
Remember this is part of the Sahara.

  25. I would like to know How many trees will need to be knocked down to build the solar farm.

Read the story, it's in Morocco, a place renowned for it's abundant forests.
