Well... yeah. Security and privacy are not binary. There are many things I couldn't care less about one non-descript entity knowing that none the less I would not want sent to another.
Some spying is worse than others. Some actors doing the spying are worse than others.
I'm not sure how you can qualify that statement given that Flash is dying because a successor has already taken over (direct support in HTML + modern browser capabilities) and none of that has come close to being the security disaster that is Flash.
Each time I travel to the UK I have to provide an IDcard/passport.
Currently you do that going into France as well. The key part is they are tracking your identity and not rejecting you based on your country of origin.
Just because you have to flash your passport doesn't mean that you can't simply go to the UK as an EU citizen and start to work. You're exempt from visas, work permits, and many other rules that apply to non-EU nationals.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, maybe if you left me a voicemail all those things you just utterly failed to communicate would come through.
Oh you hit the nail on the head while completely missing the point.
Apple sells designs.
They do not sell quality / perfectly working / latest technology. Just designs. They used to do a lot of those others, but those days disappeared when someone prominent thought that herbal tea was better than getting their cancer treated.
Frankfurt was a bust. Frigging delayed flight. hahahahahaha WiFi is the least of that shithole's problems evidently. I remember having a positive opinion of Chicago, and Charles De Gaul. Heathrow on the other hand.... I actively avoid that airport when I can (also nothing to do with WiFi). Mind you WiFi does help too. I would tell you about the low opinion I have of Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) where I am right now in an uncomfortable seat on the opposite side of the airport to my gate because they refuse to let people sit there.... but at least the WiFi works. ahahhahaha.
I can't wait for the days where we can teleport to our destinations without going through this crap.
You already do. You just choose not to accept reality.

The only thing funnier than this being the comeback is the fact you don't even know where I live. What this points to is that you have such a low opinion of everyone to feel the need to be armed at all times.
You should seek professional help before you hurt those around you.
This is a solved problem only repeated by Samsung's NIH approach. Android's default approach already requires an extra element (the user to blink), but that has also been defeated by flicking rapidly between pictures of a person with eyes open and with eyes closed. However many other vendors have taken an option to only scan on the IR spectrum. E.g. The Surface devices can't be defeated with a photograph, video or similar things. But I will bet you a Marsbar that apple doesn't do it because that would add yet another "unsightly" blemish to it's sacred front bezel in the form of another dot (IR LED) that you can see when you hold the device at a certain angle.
Mind you face-unlock doesn't work for anything secure on many devices. E.g. you can't use Samsung Pay or encryption with face-unlock.
because when it's implemented in an iPhone/Mac/other it's done _well_
bahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Look I ahhahahahahahahh oh man I can't even hahahahhahahahahah respond to that hahahahhahahahaha.
+5 funny man. I can't wait to see what a bezel less screen done right looks like. hahahahaha. I guess it will fold space time on itself using it's reality distortion powers hahahah.
Greetings from Amsterdam's free WiFi. There's an option for premium as well, but as Youtube is currently having no problem I don't know why I would want to. By the way Schipol Airport today is setting a new record for number of passengers processed. Good news is the WiFi is holding up, bad news is I had to get here 3 hours early due to the incredible strain on the checkin system. *sigh*.
There are definitely smart people out there who are thinking about it. I know about some efforts to do it within some very limited but highly critical domains. (Think critical infrastructure, like electric power transmission and similar.)
It's even dumber when you realise that all this exists already in the form of point-to-point leased lines.
And yet we've never had more access to valuable information or easier ability to communicate.
The internet in its current form is worthless only to those who emphasise anonymity and privacy above all else, for everyone else it is one of the most valuable things in existence right up there with electricity.
Someone is going to recreate Flash, Adobe lacks the power to kill it.
Nope. Flash is dying and doing so very rapidly. We're at a stage now where you can happily browse the internet without it. It's basically going the way of ActiveX without the caveat that ActiveX was implemented by a lot of the finance world.
The world migrated away from it one site at a time. Even without it being killed, there's already very little reason to have it as a plugin browser.
If the consumers are not informed, market will be fragmented.
Not at all. Fragmentation doesn't just come from ignorance, it comes from market power. Even an uninformed consumer quickly gets informed when their new toy doesn't work.
Microsoft did not have any monopoly in authentication servers and protocols.
No they had a monopoly on the systems that connect to these servers which allowed them among other things to drive the major benefit of Active Directory forward. If Unix workstations were the dominant machines then Microsoft's additions never would have made a dent in the market. You need incredible market power in the "extend" step of the EEE process.
or is that OK, because it is not China

I actually feel a bit better about this than say a Samsung TV sending your data unencrypted to anyone willing to cough up a dollar.

:-) Flying is such an incredible mixed bag.

Personally I like the bendy cucumber rules better. They are like the bendy bananas but they can't even get the plant that the myth is about right.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, maybe if you left me a voicemail all those things you just utterly failed to communicate would come through.
You missed the point. I can build a steam engine at home, that doesn't mean the steam engine is effectively dead.
Adobe doesn't lack the power to kill Flash, it lacks the power to keep it alive. It's terminal and lying on its death bed.
Oh you hit the nail on the head while completely missing the point.

You'll get the Marsbar after the phone ships and it works as intended thankyou very much.
Look please take your autism to a conversation where it matters.

More relevant will be next destination, Frankfurt. Hopefully my experience is better than yours :)

*playing the video without Flash. Jeesh sometimes I wish Slashdot had a preview feature.
No there's something strange for your. I have no problem playing Flash and I even double checked to ensure it was blocked.

Sure we can build a new Internet. Where are the long-haul links that connect cities going to come from, though? Let alone the intercontinental links.
I'll lay them! Get your wallet ready. I'm going to be filthy rich.
Oh and I'm going to track data that goes over them and sell it to the highest bidder.
The current internet has almost become worthless.
And yet we've never had more access to valuable information or easier ability to communicate.

find all those security holes - and fucking FIX them.
Security is just a very small reason for letting that depreciated proprietary plugin dependent junk die.
