  1. An Excellent Book on Physics Books for the Novice? · · Score: 1

Read The Dancing Wu Li Masters: An Overview of the New Physics by Gary Zukov. It explains all of the developments in physics from the last century in non-technical language.

I highly recommend the book, it is a winner of the American Book Award and truly will blow your mind...

  2. these "scientists" are spreading mere speculation on Ancient Sunken City Discovered Off Shores of Cuba. Maybe · · Score: 0, Troll

These people are just seeking attention. Why would they give all this info out if it is "irresponsible" to proclaim that it is indeed a human civilization? Irresponsible indeed.

I think a major indicator of the validity of this "finding" is the lack of pictures released to the public. Why are there no pictures so that we all can see and say, "Wow! They're right!"?

I say they found a bunch of rocks.

that link is merely speculation. no one has any clue about where Atlantis really was, if it existed at all. it is equally likely that Atlantis is near Cuba, in the middle of the Atlantic, or near the Straight of Gibraltar.

plus the fact that aerobraking doesn't extend into a significant part of the atmosphere, where wind would even play a role. it will take place at the very top of the martian atmosphere (that's why it takes up to 100 passes) where there is not much wind if at all. the fierce martian winds spoken of are much closer to the planet's surface than the craft will ever go.

of course they are going to "pre-process" the statues. Those statues are a world treasure, and the world should be able to view them. Are you saying that the ancient people of Herakleion built them to remain in the sea for all eternity?

Sure, they have been underwater for over a thousand years, but they will eventually be destroyed by the water, resulting in a worldwide loss of these amazing statues and relics.

This country is full of alarmists. How can you compare putting one gene in a fish to the man-eating dinosaurs of Jurassic Park? It seems like being an alarmist has become the number one way to grab attention in this country!

  8. Re:The lack of health consideration is appalling. on Wearable Internet Appliance · · Score: 1

You are a real ace. "no substantial testing has been done for health risks" are you kidding me? Ten years ago there weren't so many whiny people trying to gain sympathy by complaining of aches and pains. This is a cool product, even though no one will use it, and we don't need such lameness about health risks because I don't eat right and don't work out once a month.
