All this is them getting mad because he/they tried to call the DOT on sitting on their asses and passing the buck.
But, it really is them sitting on their asses: I'm sure he's not the first complaint they've received about this intersection; this is just the most detailed and actionable. They have been sitting on their asses while receiving these other complaints, because they should have sent them to a PE for evaluation before dismissing them out of hand. Sure, there's probably a threshold of complaints before they spend the money to have a PE do the review, but it seems that for this citizen to have gone the lengths he did, that there must have been many other complaints from other citizens.
Exactly. I learned this too early, "tape from radio FTW", except I had a mono cassette recorder, boxy flat-style, and a Fisher-Price radio next to it. "Everyone be quiet, I'm recording Dr. Demento!" I miss those tapes.
To be clear, this is not (just) catharsis; this is also me telling Slashdot, there's a bug somewhere, and you can check the AJAX logs just before the parent post, because this user was trying to post and clicked "Preview" several times, and only saw the part I had quoted, and none of the text I had typed. I clicked "Continue Editing" and my text was there, so I tried several different methods to get it to show up, going back and forth between "Preview" and "Continue Editing". To no avail; so, I clicked a final "Continue Editing" and then clicked in the text box and hit Ctrl+A (mark all), Ctrl+C (copy). Then I clicked Cancel, and then Reply to This once more.
When I then pasted into the text field, it only showed the quoted part -- all the text I had typed (and had highlighted, before I hit Ctrl+C) was gone. And since we're dealing with AJAX and not page refreshes, I couldn't hit Back to get my text back. So thanks, Slashdot, not only for screwing up the Preview, but also for somehow breaking the clipboard. This is Ubuntu 10.04 x64, and Google Chrome 8.0.552.237.
They were elected into those positions. Which means that the majority support them. If you're one of the minority, then that sucks, but that's democracy for you. Not perfect, but better than anything else.
Yep, I'm one of the minority who does not own a Diebold vote-stealing machine. Or whatever they're called these days, Xe I think.
Not close enough. I think his E is very specific to his success. More wordy: extroverts get their sense of self from others. Introverts get it from themselves. It's not really about shyness, although that does play a part in the dynamic (if you don't care so much how other people value you, then you're less inclined to interact with them). I realize your post was a joke, because the Apple board is not trolling Slashdot looking for job offers for their next CEO, but I still wanted to educate (others).
Echoing your sister post: foldable/rollable. So it'll still be the same form factor (or perhaps smaller than my phone currently is), and it will enlarge to whatever dimension you need. And have a projector. And ponies.
Even worse, the financial settlement that the company ends up paying (mostly to the lawyers) will need to be made up for, which is generally in terms of higher cost to the (remaining) customers. So as an iPhone owner, not only will I get a meager $0.15 for the $2.00 they overcharged me, they'll also need to raise my bill by $1.00 per month in order to pay for it. (Numbers made up, of course...)
Was going to say "That sounds a lot like EFT", clicked on the first link to read a little, and saw EFT near the top of the page. Great stuff, even if some of my friends think I'm crazy. (Yes, the two can be true.:) I first learned about Jin Shin Jyutsu, a similar energy healing modality. I don't practice as much as I'd like but every time I do I feel better. By the way, that agenda? It's financial. There's a lot less money in touching people and breathing deeply, than there is in selling destructive pills that can be patented (i.e., you can make more selling into a government-protected monopoly than selling public domain goods.)
That's a great way to start the morning! Stab yourself in the face and, chances are, that will be the worst pain you experience that day -- so the day can only improve!
You also just communicated with the future.
In most functioning democracies, they wouldn't succeed, except perhaps in wartime.
Welcome to perpetual wartime.
I basically use two sources: here, and Google News. Well, and NPR during the commute -- but it's surprising how much overlap there is.

Off to find the setting to go back to 1.0.
Replying with only "fuck you slashdot" because you ate my post.
Reminds of days wasted playing Paranoia in college. Who would have known it would have informed my future!?

(because the complaint is stupid, but they don't want to ruffle bureaucratic feathers)
Somehow reminds me of that old punishment, tar and feathering. Which seems about the mentality that the asshat is coming from.

Exactly. Only in at 262 but still happy, and not at all frantic about their planning.
Your mileage may vary, verily!

Children can access it? Walk in on the parents: free porn!
It's not much of a teaser if it gets ya off!
Graduate to both. Very simulatory.
The only apps that have ever been removed were ones that were deceptive or illegal in the first place.
Oh, yes, Google Voice is very deceptive and illegal.
Thanks, good to know. And, sorry about summoning the mods... :)
OT re: sig: This is not sufficient: it says nothing about the seasons. (Middle could be "Unnecessary summer" or winter, and it would fit. :)

"I put on my robe and magnet hat..."
Did you mean to post this three times, or is Slashdot still beta testing?
