  1. Eric's being a little hypocritical on Eric Schmidt: Google Glass Critics 'Afraid of Change,' Society Will Adapt · · Score: 1

'Criticisms are inevitably from people who are afraid of change, or who have not figured out that there will be an adaptation of society.'

Like people who fear monger over drones saying "How would you feel if your neighbor went over and bought a commercial observation drone that they can launch from their back yard. It just flies over your house all day. How would you feel about it?"
-Eric Schmidt, can't decide if surveillance technology is for everyone or not.

  2. Re:Unreal Tournament on Trying Your Hand at Level Design? · · Score: 2, Interesting

I'm in almost the same position myself.
I've talked to a number of 'pros' in the business and all of them have said the you need to learn to use UnrealEd (the level editor that comes with win copies of Unreal). Apparently that is the number one level design app being used by theses houses.
I went out and bought an athlon box just for this cause there isn't an UnrealEd osX port.. and I need the practice..

  6. plumbing insulation on How Do You Store Your CDs? · · Score: 4, Insightful

you know those long foam tubes you can get at the hardware to insulate pipes from freezing?

take a couple of those and stick them on the vertical surfaces of your cave (table legs, shelf edges and stuff) grab the trusty old x-acto and cut yourself some horizontal slits about an inch apart and presto! every narrow vertical surface is cd storage at hand.

plus, if you drink too much beer and fall over, you don't have to worry about hitting your head!

yeah, my favorite line in that section:

you can play games even when your lovely puppy is standing in front of you wagging his tail, blocking your view.

  10. Re:Great but... on Apple Issues Power Supply Exchange · · Score: 4, Insightful

    Apple is getting cheap?

Looks like, for $20, they're going to send me a new power supply to fix a problem that really didn't affect the performance of the box in the first place and that 20 includes the shipping of the new one to oyu and the old one back to them?

    I got no complaints.

Although this seems kinda new I've heard of this kind of treatment being used by pro footbal franchises for several years now.
It pays to quickly fix up that bruise or contusion on your star player...

    luxology.net
and if you're looking for some 3d models
turbosquid.com has a bunch and they're not THAT expensive, considering how long it would take to make some o this stuff by hand.
