Look at this post of mine from almost two years ago. I think it's still just as timely today. I've had my Mac for 17 months now and I have no desire to go to back to Lintel, or even Linux/PPC.
BTW, I'm the Unix nerd/scientific programming type. Just go to any scientific conference these days and see all the powerbooks. It's a beautiful thing.
Wow. Thank you for that level-headed response to my snarky jab. It was above and beyond the call of duty. I will accept, and will have to consider adopting, the British convention.
Hammering is easy. Sawing is easy. Carpentry is hard.
Programming is one of my tools, and I survive because I have specialized useful knowledge and skills that are not as fungible as "programming." I know how to program, but more importantly, I know when to program.
If you're so smart, how come you put your periods after closing quotation marks? You are writing in English, not some programming language which uses string literals.
I swear I've NEVER picked my arsehole while typing. There is a goddess sitting right behind me in our cube cluster...and I'm still trying....to get her name...
Go ahead, then. You can get her name when you read the harassment complaint.
Why should we, when it's so much more fun to speculate based on something we think we remember from a Nova episode or reading Omni at the barbershop that one time?
Now these guys will want a piece of the action.
Boy, the 17" Aluminum Apple Notebooks are heavy enough. I can't imagine what an Aluminum-Lead one would be like.
Here on Slashdot, it apparently it means "immature, vitriolic, intolerant person with inverted scheduling priorities and bad hygiene."
So it's written in Java, then?

You can defeat this plot by putting the homeless person in a microwave.
Yes, because "First hired, last fired" is certainly not a forced ranking of employees.
Unions are oppressive. To their members. Accept that.
"Recycle Bin."

...But not nearly enough people. Also, that needs to be extended:
wealth == choice == freedom == responsibility
Hey, if programming were easy, people would do it for free.
Is one of my favorite window managers going to have to change its name again?
No, but perhaps an 11c saving per track will.
The last umpteen Linux installs I performed had this "twice physical RAM" suggestion for swap. Has the VM changed in the last year?
And a real question: what do you do when you subsequently add more RAM?
Not a real playground bully, but all of his D&D characters are playground bullies. (except the female ones, which are Lara Croft clones.
I'll bet Seagate loves you.

I thought that figuring out how to make your peripherals work was what made most Linuxes "games-based" distros in the first place.
No, .NET is full featured across all one supported OS.
The next thing you know, they will be making TVs and stereos that don't even require motherboards!
Thank goodness. Flash cards always bugged me, with all their "5 x 9 = 45" and "6 + 13 = 19" and "400 / 2^32 = 9.31322574615478515625 x 10^-8"...
3 exa-giga Hertz? Let's see, that's 3 * 10^18 * 10^9 = 3 * 10^27 Hertz. Maybe Intel will always be faster than Apple.
