What would DJ's and their ilk be able to do with this (ahem) musically?
instead of scratching a record/cd you could do tons of dopplar effects by f'in with a thin flexible speaker...
Let's see DJ scribbles (or whatever) get down with that!
instead of "scratching" it will be called "tearing" or "folding" a phat beat=P
sounds silly but plausible to move a speaker around for effect (See leslie speakers, or their "virtual/electric" bretheren of phase shifting audio devices phasers, flangers, and chorus')
I'm glad to hear thatware is still devloping... I started my site with thatware, but quickly migrated to phpnuke as it had some specific features I dug...
phpnuke is good for some things... but following the migration pattern can be painful if you customize the code much (which seems like a neccessity)... phpnuke.org has a beta of their 5.x code that looks pretty neat... but I wonder if it'll be painful to migrate too...
Isn't Iomega notoriously slow with rebate checks in the past? Kinda ironic (besides the obvious: getting a rebate because the product was defective to go out and buy more product from the same company)
it's not all that important to know how a college radio station works... just that it does.
Maybe I just DJ'd at a crappy College station (which i did/it was) but there wasn't alot of payola going around to influence that.0002 local share. And the free shwag, is pretty lame (wow a sticker from some christian metal bank from OK!)... and someone steals all the good cd's at the station so in order to have anything to play you have to lug in your own collection (pre-mp3 explosion... a lop top full of mp3's woulda saved alot of aggrevation)
This is not an undisclosed "music industry rule"...
You don't know what you are talking about (or it's merely conjecture)
College radio stations do pay royalties/license on the songs they play... but i believe it is at a much reduced price... (but i'm not going to pass that off as a fact...) College stations like regular stations get a special royalty license that is more of a blanket than a per/song rate...
That's what I vaguely remember from my COM 300 classes anyways...
I'm familiar w/PHP.. what's the down low on GTK?
What are the requirements/benefits/uses?
Thanks in advance (for not being snide)

The ratings system is pretty hosed. Just look at the mockery the South Park boys did to it with their movie (Every time the MPAA panel suggested taking away a violent scene, they'd add 5 more "fucks, etc" to the dialogue...or was that vice versa?)
*Shrug* Who can really say what "moral" standards are anyways... Personally I find shitty movies more offensive than brain eating, bare breasts, and vulgarity... but hey...
There are plenty of boneheads who have "pro" grade studios but don't know how to use them. Yeah its great that you have that 2 inch/24 track/Struder but if you can't put a signal chain together it doesn't matter.... having a 1176 limiter and fancy ass mic pres, and neuman a studio genius makes not...
In short it's the talent/ear not the equipment. There are people with home studios who do amazing things... there are other's who's production quality will be eternally lame no matter what home gear gadget they get...
I do find it encouraging that the price points have dropped and the software is so extensive that if you had enough free time and skills you could make a masterpiece (acoustic treatments/music talent not withstanding)
Another alternative to Napster, gnutella, and the long dead scour (although isn't there a new breed scour going through beta now by the purchasing company)
They are going to install them in the bathroom stalls at said stadium to catch the guy who pees all over the seat of the stall, or hits the floor instead of the urinal.
Not sure where to attribute this (or if it's accurately reproduced...)
