Those WERE the days! I remember getting the Amiga 500 for Christmas in what must have been 1990 or something. I remember using the pointer-edit utility to change the mouse pointer into a teenage mutant ninja turtle. I also remember when my dad bought us the "1 meg drive" (an upgrade to 1 MB of RAM) so that we could play Sierra's Colonel's Bequest. Sadly I also remember one of the last games we got when we had to drive to Toronto which had the closest remaining store that sold Amiga software. We got one of the later Space Quest games (maybe 4?) and it required something like 10 disks and you had to change the disk and wait 5 minutes every time you switched screens. Those WERE the days!
And remember the fact that the joystick/mouse port would even accept Atari controllers? Ya!
Although it's been said (and proved!) numerous times, I'll say it again here because it's just so obvious. File sharing HELPS record and movie companies. The singles that I download are songs that I like, but would never buy the full album. However, maybe while downloading that song I grab another one that I've never heard from the same band, and if I like it, I'll go get that CD. Same thing with movies. If I want to see a movie, I'll go to the theatre and pay money to see it. If there's a movie that I'm not that interested in, and my friend downloads it and I see it on his 17" monitor and end up liking it, then I'll spend my money and go see it on the big screen with the big sound in the theatre. Maybe the RIAA/MPAA don't believe this, but it's true. There's proof. Everyone I know feels the same way! Wake up!!!
Well, I'm not sure what you mean but you might be confused. MS has not done this is as of yet, but they are working on it. And they don't mean just palm synchronization in general (which you'd use Palm Desktop 4.0 for) but a conduit for MS Entourage for OS X - to synchronize all your contacts and what not held in that application.
Hope that helps!

The reason that these are so expensive is that Terra Soft must first purchase the G4s from Apple, and THEN do their modifications or whatever and then sell them to their customers. As we all know, there's no "clone" market allowed.
Exactly! Don't forget that just because you can program doesn't mean you'll do well in computer science. Programming is a language, just like English. You learn how to program in first year (if you don't already know how) and then you have 3 more years to do things with that language. All English students entering University can (hopefully!) speak English perfectly well, but that doesn't mean that they should be able to take a test on the English language and get their BA just like that.
A University degree is a very important thing because it tells employers one thing: you know how to learn. That's why so many people get jobs that may have nothing to do with their major - an employer who sees that someone has a University degree sees someone who can learn new jobs to do in the company. A BSc does NOT mean that one can just program.
Dual-Booting will not be a big issue for me to watch a DVD because watching a DVD is not a regular application -- meaning, you don't just up-and-run it. Anyways, I already have to reboot to watch a DVD using just Mac OS 9 because I have to switch off virtual memory - and that requires a reboot. And as someone said, maybe it will be sitting there on our idisks on the 24th - who knows?
The Darwin Streaming Server is in my opinion, the best possible solution. Quicktime has the best quality and is the nicest looking. DSS is opensource, and "is based on the same code as Apple's QuickTime Streaming Server. It is available at http://www.opensource.apple.com/projects/streaming for FreeBSD, Linux, Solaris, Windows NT and of course Darwin/Mac OS X. The source can also be downloaded from the above URL.

I beg to differ - have you seen the recent Apple UNIX ads?

Or am I wrong?
