That's exactly what I would have posted had I woke up a few hours earlier. Fucking 3rd shift ruins everything, now I can't even be insightful or informative on/. anymore..
I used to always want to get an amateur radio license but never wanted to both learning morse code so on one hand i think this could be a good way to get people into amateur radio..
On the other hand being able to do 5 words per minute in morse couldn't be that hard and in times of crisis, the ability of amateur radio enthusiasts to be able to decipher morse code has come in handy, so perhaps the requirement should be kept in place..
Take a typing class at the local community college.. since you are probably fairly fast at finding the keys with 2 fingers, you probably the location of all of the keys anyway so it shouldn't be too much to learn how to hit them using all of your fingers..
If you take a class, there is incentive for you to learn it since you dont want to flunk and you do want to get your moneys worth out of it. Touch typing isn't hard.. after a couple of weeks of practice you should be able to be at least as fast as you are now using 2 fingers..
I don't really understand why they would sell a single player only version at walmart and then sell a regular single/multiplayer version at "gaming" stores. Just sell the regular version everywhere..
no matter how much you like your host, there are others that are just as good if not better and just as cheap if not cheaper.. just take your ball and find a new home.
Honestly, who cares about Apple benchmarks? The only people that believe them are Apple enthusiasts and Jeff Goldblum, everyone else knows that it has been a long long time since Apple has had comparable speeds to wintel hardware. People don't buy Apple because it's fast, they buy it because its cute, allegedly easier to use, or because of blind fanaticism.
I really don't understand how people can enjoy using sh for their scripting needs, having to use eval and backticks to accomplish even the simplest language constructs has me turning to other languages almost immediately.
This is cool, but the debian way of using apt-get to get perl modules is some much easier since dependancies and rpms don't seem to get along that well.
I wish someone would shutdown the spammer that helps in sending the artprice.com, artists-server.com,art-online, etc. spam.. A whole lot of the spam I get lately is from them, I'm not really sure why they think I'd be into buying art from them, but they sure are relentless.

Well that's a pretty sucky way of doing things! I'm glad I don't administer Macs! Rather than letting me just crack open one copy, leaving the rest in a filing cabinet somewhere, then load the install files onto a server and install from there, there going to make me open every bloody box and run the install locally? That sucks! I know I've got licenses for every computer and can produce them if need be, why should they care where the source comes from?
You're being lied to by people who don't know what they are talking about.. the corporate versions of said software don't have the same restriction and don't even require a serial number at all.
If you are trying to install a single user copy on 50 computers on the same network without buying the corporate edition, you deserve to have problems.
I never realized that "real" applications were written in smalltalk until I noticed that one of the alert boxes from one of the programs we use at work had "visualage smalltalk" in the title bar.
I really don't see KDE or any other linux desktop software beating Windows or MacOS in usabilities tests anytime soon. KDE and GNOME keep playing catchup to windows instead of leading the way. Sure there are some unique features, but the bulk of linux desktop development is recreating features that windows and macos have had for years. The KDE team does unquestionably good work, but they are going to need to keep stepping it up if they expect anyone to find their software more useable than the already existing mainstream products.
Banning list-generation software seems a bit heavy-handed, doesn't it?
Is it just me, or does Timothy consistantly just not get it?

which type did you make?
wow, thats awesome.. everyone should use that..

great isn't it? i wonder if the gpl wouldn't be more understandable and less likely to be violated if it were as concise.

it's called half.com
I was under the impression that silk was made by worms and not spiders.
Bah. Personally, I think that no guns would definitely mean no gun crime.
Hahahaha.. just like no drugs would definitely mean no drug crimes?
but should I infer from your post that you're implying that all Michael's articles are, by nature, crap ?
For the most part, that is a correct assumption.
They better start suing supermarkets next, I believe that most kids and animals that die in locked cars do so at supermarkets.

Anyway, Apple has enough problems with OS X being RAM-hungry, without enticing people to fill 80MB with a text editor.
Agreed, using emacs for a simple text editor is like using MS Office as a simple text editor.. Except MS Office is smaller.

how useful is this book if you don't already know the c language?

Armed only with an overhead projector and slides, I was once seriously accused of hacking into a university network.
Is that true? I'd really love to read about that.
