I don't really like mozilla, but I'd definitely use their mail program if it were separate, especially if it will apply filters to imap mail since outlook refuses to run filters on imap mail.
I also like the sunglasses-road-trip icon too. Ahh, memories. Anyone else have favorite icons from that dll?
I was always fond of the macguyver style swiss army knife icon. The foxpro fox icon worked well for games too assuming you weren't using fox pro on the system.
It's hard for me to believe the same person did both sets of icons. The Mac icons look so elegant and timeless, and the Windows icons just look cheap and lame. I guess it's tough to follow yourself...
Spoken like a true mac fanatic and not someone that has actually used both systems.
either way, the lcd's being sold today mostly suck for just about everything. The desktop lcd's are no where near the quality of the ones on laptops and cost several times more.
I think that lcd's would get cheaper if they could improve the technology enough to get good resolutions at high refresh rates. 800*600 at 60hz is worthless to me. I can't work on something that makes my eyes feel like they are bleeding. From a gaming standpoint, they will definitely have to improve things if they want lcds to take off. We have lcd's on some of the computers in our call center and we avoid them in favor of the larger, easier on the eyes crts.
Here's an animated graphic (.mng, currently viewable only in Mozilla) of a torrent transfer.
That is a blatant lie. The.mngs show up just fine in IE. Png's and mng's have worked fine in recent versions of IE for several years now, and only have a problem when you install quicktime which thinks it needs to hijack the png formats because they are "mac picture formats" in the qt installer.
As soon as those $200 laser printers start being able to print in full color, I'll be one of the first people to buy one, but until then I'll stick to inkjets.
You can get used laser printers for free all the time when schools and business's throw them out with several thousand prints worth of toner still in them, but laser printers are really no substiture for full photo quality printing.
I wonder if someone could recycle the ink carts by refiling them and selling them to other people. Generally the protection on ink carts is done by the printer remembering the serial number of carts that have already been in it. I remember a previous story on slashdot where a vendor made a printer that remembered the last 3 carts so if you refilled them, you had to rotate them back to one it didn't remember.
simply used the autoit script and wrote my own "pindlebot" after I saw what could be done by people with bad intensions. My rating on ebay is flawless and i'm sure that many people are enjoying the 3 legitimate windforces I sold them
But why would someone buy such a thing from you? The point of a game (even an online one) is to have fun and relax. At least, that's the way I treat games and that's the way I think people should treat them.
You obviously haven't kept up on the last several years of mmorpg's then if you have to ask that question.
I beta tested there and really dug it but I did have a problem. The game is more than willing to take your money, but there is no way to transfer "there-bucks" into hard cash. I wanted to set up shop and sell virtual wares using the dev kit but all it does is give my avatar money, not me.
I think that is the biggest problem.
Well yeh, that's kind of how their business model works, you put money in, but you don't get it back out. Hopefully paypal doesn't ever switch over to this model, because then no matter how much old stuff you sold on ebay, all you could buy was more old stuff from ebay.
Please don't bother to post links to the save farscape petitions. Anyone that cares knows about them and the rest of know that online petitions don't work for anything anyway.
These will be great when they cost $50 or so. Until then, it is more of a novelty, I can't really see anyone wanting to cough up the money for one of these. Use with a projector seems like a decent idea, but even then, most projectors don't support the same aspect ratios. You can by a hdtv that is bigger than your monitor (unless you have a huge monitor) for less than you can by this converter.
yeh, i've noticed the best way to get karma is to say something like
"eww those new powerbooks look so sweet.. I can't wait to buy one, I'm saving up for a year right now. I don't care if they are half the speed of regular computers, they just look so darn sweet"
The real reason to patent the garbage can picture is to keep slashdot from choosing to use it to refer to macos in the future instead of the shiny silver apple.

The sooner we send this scourge of the seaways to Davy Jones' locker, the better. ...shouldn't it be Davy Jones's locker?....
No, when a noun ends in s, you put the apostrophe after the s, you don't add another s on the end.

michael should just not post commentary to the stories that he posts, php is definately java by any other name.
because /. doesn't really work that well and some stories don't actually show up until they are in the old news side bar.

Legitimate is hardly word after that confession.

or one bad apple depending how you look at it.
I wish it would. I'm sure I'd get more performace from my voodoo3 if they'd just update the drivers :)

IDC has a new report out, claiming that revenues for LCDs by the end of this year will top the CRT revenues.
Could that be because a lcd costs like 3x that of a comparable crt even though there is no real increase in production costs?
well by the time you've bought a $400 adapter and an a 30" monitor, you've might as well bought the 30" tv.

Move2mac has nothing to do with developing mac applications without owning a mac. Did you read the comment you replied to?
Bottom line, the great majority of users do not believe they are breaking the law.
I beg to differ. Its pretty apparent to anyone you talk to that they know they are breaking the law, they just don't care.
