I remember hearing somewhere that kids lose pretty much all of their rights at school. I never understood how...I never saw this in the constitution:
kids dont really lose their rights at school.. they lose them the same way people always lose their rights.. they dont know what they are and dont fight back when they are trampled on.
very good point.. just because some of the smarted kids with internet at home know what they are missing out on and are more imformed about the issues, doesnt mean the other kids should be informed.
Let's face it: Internet access is not a necessary element of a student's first 12 years of education. Even it's value for the freshman and sophomore years of college is dubious at best. (How much time have we all wasted with email and web browsing? I'm glad no one is counting.)
are you kidding? have you been to school anytime in the last 50 years?? the internet is about the only way to get recent information on most topics.. half the papers i write dont even have books written about the topics im researching.. plus full text magazine articles, that you can only get off the internet because your local library can't afford to buy a copy of every specialized magazine out there, are great.
yeh at my highschool most of the teachers either muted the tv or turned it off altogether.. once they started getting their hands slapped by the administration for it a few of the weak minded ones forced their students to watch it, but even then the ads were muted and roll was taken during the commercials
this agreement is what pops up when we telnet to the schools system to check email and whatnot.. also all the lab machines say this when they are turned on.

aol instant messager doesnt allow for messages to be left or the person if they are offline either.. and with bots and proper scripting, irc clients can..

yeh but mysql as a filesystem hardly predates beos' filesystem. if mysql as a filesystem was around before beos i hardly doubt it would be slashdot news now. do your homework before you start thread crapping

Beos Specs.. scroll down..
basically (as anyone thats used beos knows) file information is basically stored in file attributes. ie: Email is just a text document with a sender, recipient, date, etc attribute with the body as the info in the txt document. This is really usefull for mp3's every bit of an id3 tag can be given its own attribute and then you can search based on the attributes and such..
ck. (Like my brother complaining that The Sims cheat codes don't work anymore since I did an upgrade on that game. Lamer!)
there are new cheat codes for the newer versions.. hehe.. had the same problem with my girlfriend..
However, with a bank card, there are more stipulations to the $50.00 limit, so if you were charged $7000 and you only had $100 in the bank, this could possibly put a serious hurting on your credit rating
No, if you got charged $7000 with a bankcard and all you had was $100 in the back the person trying to charge you would get a transaction denied message much like if you try and charged over your credit limit.. bank cards wont let you charge more that what you have in there.. thats why I use mine instead of checks.. the bank will happily try to cash a check over and over if you don't have any money and then charge you each time they try and cash it and can't.. with a bank card if the money isnt there it says so and you have to pay some other way or not pay.
i believe the military falls under different rules than normal situations tho... arent you like basically military property or some such bullshit once you enlist?

so are you looking for summer interns? :)
you are obviously over estimating the the appeal of linux.. at the moment nothing is getting creamed by linux..
