    2. There's also been an attack on a political youth organization just outside Oslo (parent organization is part of the government)

Advertisers and tracking services will fight this to the bitter end.

....and if this is ratified as a web standard, governments could simply enforce honoring such headers by law. In Norway, a national register has been in place for years where registered citizens opt-out from fax and voice spam. Norway also have laws which prevents advertisers from filling your (physical) mailbox with junk (you just place a sticker on your mailbox).

Well actually Web browsing and e-mail can/will gain an advantage; Web browsers and e-mail clients do cache a lot of information. Also the trend these days is to move indexing from server to client (desktop search).

  4. Re: 3 months notice - good idea on Can You Be Sued for Quitting? · · Score: 1

In my part of the world - Norway, employer and employees are required by law to give 3 months notice. And you know what? This works out great both parties! You seldom hear about people slacking after giving notice - you never know, in the future you might be in a position where you're trying to sell something to your previous employer.

Whenever I've left a position, I've usually had a 15 day overlap with my replacement in order to train him/her. I can't imagine that people in this part of the world have higher work ethics than yours - your opinions on employment termination, for me, are completely alien....
