I don't know, I never had warning, and there's one person who I would kill to have videos and pictures of.
Especially videos, there's a huge difference between seeing someone moving and hearing their voice and a still picture. I can't even remember the voice now. I would do anything.
I think there's something special about drawing, even if you're terrible at it. If you sit down and really look at someone, and try to copy every feature of their face exactly (not circles for eyes and a triangle for a nose, but really look and try and draw what you see and forget what it comes out like.) I think that drawing someone is different to taking a picture, I think you really see them when you do it.
I remember drawing my grandmother a few years before she died, she posed for me but she kept falling asleep and I said "granny!" and she'd apologize and put her head up again. Now when I see that drawing I see details that I never managed to draw, I go right back to the moment I was drawing her.
I remember watching a video about a man with cancer and his wife. Randy Pausch of "The Last Lecture". They said they just had to enjoy their time together (A matter of months) they tried not to think about it and every time it would come into her mind she would say this mantra of "Not helpful" and just try to be happy.
Anyway my heart goes out to you and my thoughts are with you, I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling.
I bet if you're looking for something like car insurance or Spanish lessons in your area and you see an ad for it you click on it. A lot of people think they ignore ads, but they only ignore the ads that they're not within the target audience for.
It's the same with television, everyone says they don't pay attention to the ads, but if ads didn't work they wouldn't exist.
It's alright whether Apple and Microsoft are free or not! So long as it's not a secret and I can turn it off! Which it is in Ubuntu! (I don't know about the others as I don't use them, I don't know why people keep bringing them up)
Chill!
It won't affect you at all! It's only for people who buy computers with Ubuntu on them and it can be easily turned off in the command line and it's not a secret!
You are making a mountain out of a yogurt.
They are giving me a free OS.
This only goes into computers you buy with Linux on them, and it's easily changed in the command line. You're looking for battles.
It's not illegal to pick your nose in public either.

I can't remember which Stephen Pinker book it was, but in one they analyzed a recording of a young black American man (can't remember where he was from) speaking and found his grammar to be perfectly consistent with the rules of his own dialect. A dialect which, in many instances, is superior to "standard English" in that it allows one to be more specific with what they're saying while using less words.
I'm sorry I can't remember which book, but I'd highly recommend any of them.
1. You're like the 8th person to make this same post.
2. I would react the same to MS
3. If someone pays something for something/is forced to pay for something they're more likely to complain aggressively when it goes wrong than if it was given to them as a free gift.
This happens all the time. It happened with the google net neutrality thing as well, a bad article was posted that didn't have all the information and contained some outright lies and everyone panicked.
What's hip is using the social networking sites that other people have stopped using like Friendster and Yahoo! Clubs.

It was all going fine till I got to the suppositories.
I think they tried to copy the "active neopet" login security feature on Neopets.
That's a bit much, but someone is supposed to die at the end of a Klingon opera.. so yeah.. it's not remotely authentic.
I wish Klingons spoke old English, since they're so like the anglo saxons. Imagine if all this energy was going into bringing that back!

Monkeys? Crows use tools. They can bend wire into the shape of a hook to get things out of a narrow space. Without being taught. Tool use is no big deal. http://www.ted.com/talks/joshua_klein_on_the_intelligence_of_crows.html

It's funny, the mistake wouldn't bother me.. but the Comic Sans MS?
How well do you speak Chinese?
Smug git.
Ah ha. Writing "for OEM" installations is redundant since it's only for them.
Ads keep the Internet free and support websites like slashdot and countless others. Adblock is evil.
This is like 2 years old, no? And they're still not evil!
I'm sure they will tell us what it sends. It'll only be on OEM installs anyway.
Suicide is more painful for the family, believe me.
OEM only, can be removed easily.

I wouldn't give a crap. I already run Windows updates and send bug reports. This is just a PING for crying out loud.
