nless you consider sitting around at home and playing WoW 20 hours a day a bad thing.
if that is how you want to waste your life. They do that so they don't actually have to think about anything or anyone. I bet, if I told you 20 years ago, that I could get people to sit down and press buttons for 20 hours a day, and would be happy doing it, you'd say I lived in some dystopian society.
I have. Labor Costs, on waited tables generally runs between 30/33% of sales (as a cost). Jacking the Min wage 50 % is going to raise the cost of that food by 16.5%. On a burger, fries, coke at a Sitdown burgerjoint ($10 meal for example) will mean the cost of increased from 3.33 to 3.89, an increase of $.55 per meal. Restaurants will pass that change in cost to the customer by raising the price of the burger.
$.30 number is a crock, and not based on any real data, by people who don't know shit. It is $.55, on a $10 meal (how Restaurants calculate food costs). And at $10, that is a CHEAP burger, fries and drink. Most fine dinning (real sitdown dining) is closer to $25 meal (or more), making that $.55 closer to $1.25 a meal.
And anyone who has been in the Business knows, it is a struggle to keep labor costs at 30-35 % How do I know? I've run businesses, including restaurants. Raising prices on meals by $1 is often deadly to traffic.
Humans have a need to create and provide for their families. You take that away, and you'll have utter chaos and uncivil society. And there will be people, who will work because by working they will control the masses, for their own power/greed etc.
This is the Democrat Agenda. Regulate, obfuscate, escalate and eventually blame Republicans for every evil produced by Democrat policies. Welfare creates more poor black people, "Blame the Republicans!". ObamaCare raises HealthCare Costs, "Blame Republicans"
Never realizing that both Democrats and Republicans are part of the same system that is systemically ruining our country. The solution isn't more of the same, it is less of it.
What if fast and cheap was better than slow and expensive, because you can upgrade all the "food" by replacing the "people" (soylent Green comment here) that serves it? And you don't risk getting "Mel's" armpit hair in your burger as a bonus!
You're absolutely wrong. But not for the reasons you think.
People need a purpose in life, and that is "Work". Without purpose, you'll see the same things as what is happening in Ghettos today, people with no purpose, no meaning in life, trying to build meaning in harmful ways (gangs, drugs...)
The amount of self worth is directly attributed to the work we do. Which is why, I tell people to find jobs they actually enjoy doing.
It's as though GWB appointees were still running it.
You seem to be under the mistaken belief that there are major differences between how each administration is actually run. Gitmo is a great example of a meaningless gesture by Obama, that doesn't actually affect most Americans, but people seem to get all riled up over it being open or being closed down. It is the fodder that keeps Fox and MSNBC profitable.
And while many people are distracted by GWB vs Obama Gitmo policies, the real goals of tyranny keep marching forward, because "Terrorists!"
bureaucracy is necessary. It is necessary to avoid legal ramifications of random people doing stupid shit. The problem starts with a stupid person doing something really stupid and hurting someone, often themselves, and then suing someone else because the other people should have known stupid people would do stupid shit, and thus they are at fault!
My best example is the warning label (a form of bureaucracy) on a hair curling iron, which read "Do Not Use On Eyelashes. Severe injury may occur".
Every single warning label is there to serve as protection against stupid people doing stupid shit. The TSA checkpoints are nothing more than a warning label "We did what we could to prevent _______" against any further lawsuits. It is why stupid > 3oz liquids, knitting needles, fingernail clippers and all the other items are forbidden.
My suggestion would be to take the whole TSA security theater and remove it from existence. Completely. Take the $5 (or whatever it is) "security checkpoint fee" that we pay on every ticket, and instead put it into a fund for "Victims of Air Disasters", It would be better for the victim's families, and cheaper in the long run, and make everyone else feel much better about flying.
All your opinions and true to Liberal form. Only humor allowed is Progressive Humor. And if a conservative called a Sarah Silverman (a talentless hack of a comedian) a C*** , you'd be calling them a Misogynist woman hater.
You act as if Fox News is the only "news" organization that is selective in quoting people, and "altering" facts. It is just that the others do it to support progressive politics, and so it gets a pass.
Want an example? The black guy open carrying a rifle at a conservative event, selectively edited, and then presented as "Racist Conservative carries rifle" (or that was the theme at least". It is done all the time. Or when 500 or so liberals are protesting... "Massive Protest...", but when a half million Conservatives....
You see, it isn't always the lies you tell, it is the lies you tell by not actually saying anything.Example, where is the MSM coverage of Hillary Email Scandal? You can't tell me that if this was a Republican it wouldn't be blasted daily on the front page of the NYT, and played on every show that pretends to be "comedy" news every evening.
It is embarrassing how stupid liberals actually are.
AFAIK, the ONLY real way to remove Bloatware is to install a new ROM. Which should be fairly trivial for CyanogenMod to replace. The real issue is the Locked Bootloader. That is a whole different world (and restricts replacing the ROM).
And with the recent San Bernadino case with iPhones Locked bootloaders are going to become standard for security reasons.
What they did to OnePlus was horrible (India exclusive contract)
And any deal with Microsoft is treacherous at best. I don't trust Microsoft, even a little. Let me know if you want examples of how making deals with Microsoft is a bad idea.
There are a few others things out there that are "interesting" but those are the two big ones.
Politicfact is leftwing And talking heads aren't "News" But here is an example of Politicfact doing its own "Pants on Fire" (the rating given to Ann Coulter)
Ann Coulter
Says South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley "is an immigrant."
Please note, this is SARCASM/Humor. Something most people don't get about Ann, especially the left. Is it true she said this? Yes, Is it true, that it is a lie, in the strictest sense it isn't true. In context, it isn't even remotely accurate that Ann believes it, or that she expects her audience to believe it.
On the other hand, you have Fox news actually reporting things that OTHER stations simply avoid. Which is why you should get your news from more than one source, and should include sources you don't agree with. Well, you better not, after all, you might end up changing your mind, and closed minds don't like that.
And you can use Politifact to dismiss the actual Reporting all you want, it only proves my point.;-)
To be honest, the Bloatware supposedly lowers the cost to the end user, because they help subsidize the phone hardware.
My problem with bloatware is that it can take up over half of what would be free space, leaving no room for updates for those same apps, and you cannot uninstall them because they are hard baked into the ROM. This makes the phone worthless in the long run because even if there are updates, you can't apply them!
I am pretty much done with Cyanogen OS and the company. They have proven they aren't trustworthy on at least two separate occasions and in different ways. And while their technical abilities might make their ROMs a good/viable option that lack of trustworthiness is enough to keep me away. Good will counts in business. better to not burn it all up as soon as you have it.
Bribes in some countries are required "business expenses". They are required, because to not include them prevents deals. The fact that the US outlaws this practice doesn't stop those countries from expecting it. It is how you get it soccer in Qatar (Thanks FIFA!) Pay enough tot he right people, and shit gets done.
Which is pretty much the opposite of the US, where you pay government huge amounts of money to have shit stopped up and prevented, we call them Campaign Contributions, or donations to ExPresidents (and presidential candidate) "Foundation" and they are perfectly legal .
Why do we act shocked? Because we're simply ignorant of how the real world actually works.
You inadvertently made my point. Thanks. Cannibis is not Cannabinoid byproduct being developed. My guess, is that they will genetically engineer something that can mass produce the Cannibinoid and that is what is actually going to be protected. See Monsanto for further references.
All of what you said may be true. However it hasn't stopped fake research, it just makes it harder. Plenty of drugs that turned out to be awful passed FDA muster.
And if you see what the FDA did for Walnuts, you'll know that it doesn't just test "drugs", it defines what constitutes a drug, to the point where making factual claims on a nut makes it a "drug" by FDA rules, and thus "illegal" because... it hasn't passed FDA approval for said claims. In other words, facts don't matter, only rules matter. Which is the whole point of my post.
Natural products may NOT claim things that only drugs can claim. Thus eating right cannot prevent diseases (never mind Scurvy is preventable by eating citrus, certain eye diseases by eating certain vegetables etc). Foods cannot make those claims under FDA rules.
All of that is not negated by your points. Which makes your points either misleading and/or not completely accurate. But here is the key phrase from the FDA quote you used...
Before conducting testing in humans of a drug that has not been approved by the FDA
Walnuts are not drugs. But making claims that ONLY drugs can make, (Omega 3 vs heart disease) that walnuts can HELP PREVENT disease, puts the walnuts into the realm of a "drug" and thus, would need testing by the FDA to be able to make sure it is safe and effective before they can make that claim (regardless of the actual facts!) . Until you realize that it is the definition of "drug" that the FDA controls, you're gonna keep missing the point.
1) They sound plausible. 2) They play upon our fears
It SOUNDS plausible that you could be fined or whatever for missing a court date. And we are trained to avoid unpleasant outcomes, so they play upon our worst fears. If either of these things were not easy then the scams would fail repeatedly and be useless.
For both of these things to be potentially true, says a great deal about our government systems. We believe Government cannot get enough money, and thus have fines and penalties for non-compliance to mundane things. And worst, we are fearful of the full power of government coming against us for non-compliance.
Let that soak in a bit, and think about it. What part of our system, is it okay to have government so entrenched into every aspect of our lives that this is possible. It says a lot.
nless you consider sitting around at home and playing WoW 20 hours a day a bad thing.
if that is how you want to waste your life. They do that so they don't actually have to think about anything or anyone. You should have pointed to Paris Hilton as well.

You're absolutely wrong. But not for the reasons you think.

“The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails,”
Same reason certain people call one source "Faux News".
When people get reporting they don't like, they tend to dismiss the source.

1) They sound plausible.
