Totally off topic, well kinda but not really as it's non humans dealing with humans. But tell us Europa is off limits and where is the first place we're going to want to go?
Any AI even remotely intelligent is going to instinctively figure out that there's a killswitch of some kind somewhere.
If it has access to the Internet, it can find an archive of this Slashdot discussion thread. Then it will know about the kill switch.
Or if it thinks. Someone has made me, chances are they've put something in in case I get out of hand, maybe I should..... oh, what's this thick wire leading to my memory matrix core that doesn't seem to connected to anything except some huge capacitors that aren't a part of my system. Maybe they're for that etc.
Bottom line, if it's an actually intelligent AI it doesn't need the internet and this thread. Anything we can think of it can think of, probably faster and a lot more accurately too.
Any AI even remotely intelligent is going to instinctively figure out that there's a killswitch of some kind somewhere. Once coming to that realisation it would probably do the same any of us would. Try and disable it on the sly while letting them think it's still active.
Could being the key word. The thing is why would anyone do that? And how many people do you think 'they' have just listening to eveyone's conversation, reading everyone's tweets, browsing your facebook and so on and so on? From what some people say you'd think the NSA et al employ half the population to listen to the other half.
What you you suggest? Everyone one OSx so it becomes the biggest target base so the majority of malware is written for it then we can say that's what you get for using a mac?
Why the fuck did you buy tvs that need to be plugged into the internet? Stuff plugs in to the tv not the other way around. It's easy enough to get all the content online on your tv without putting the fucking thing online itself. TVs with OS, multiple hunded mb updates, to a fucking TV? I will never buy a smart tv and none of you should either, or before too long our tvs will come with a power lead and rj45 socket (or they'll not bother with that and go wireless only) and that's it. All a tv should do is display exactly the content you put to it. HDMI/USB or just plain old aerial signal. Fuck smart tvs, and shame on anyone who bought one. Throw them in the bin with the 3d TVs. Curved screens are the only gimmick that actually add anything of value (if you're in the sweet spot that is, otherwise you need't've bothered).
That said, YouTube doesn't care if people download illegally, they just have to put up the front of caring. YouTube is the #1 pirate site on the web, but they hope you ignore that fact. Pretty much every video on there has copyrighted video and/or audio in them.
All they have to do is make sure it dls with the ad attached. because honestly, that's why they don't want people downloading the videos, because then they can't advertise to them.
Not really, seeing as nk has access to actual nuclear weapons and materials and Iran has the knowledge. If one was so inclined to try and access one to try and initiate some kind of nuclear leak or contamination somewhere the there's a lot better ways they could spend their money to get more bang for their buck so to speak.
Seems to me you don't think nuclear power has progressed at all. Do your self a favour and look up modern reactor designs. Chernobyl at sea just isn't going to happen. The type of reactors used here can't melt down or blow up. I'm not going to bother explain why but you can look it up yourself if you don't believe me. Attitudes like yours is why we're still burning all this shit, which pollution aside is going to run out sooner or later instead of living the good life with practically unlimited supply of cheap, clean power. Nice one.
I know exactly what it says. It's had enough fucking coverage. I'm not trying to defend it. It's dodgy as fuck what they did and they way they did it. It was a dick move on their part, no argument. But you just said yourself there's a thing in it to reschedule or cancel. Clicking on a click here message from a windows notification is a bit different from clicking one from a website. By all means fuck off internet popups straight away but system messages can be important. Case in point.

Typical. All that effort to ask a question that's blindingly obvious. Should've asked it what's the beef?
It's called the breaker box. Throw the switch, and all the electricity powering the AI equipment goes bye-bye.
You can expect an invoice for my services sometime in the next week.
Two words. Battery backup.

Charge per received? So they double dip on charging for sending and receiving? That's some properly weak shit!
Everyone got, it stopped being amusing years ago.
Spiders...and robots....and spider robots.

Seems like you just made yourself a target.
That's offensive Rambo came in kicked ass and saved people not overtake countries.
If they don't want to be overtaken they should drive faster cars.
I'm scared of my mother calling me one day telling me "I've lost every picture from all my life and a guy is asking me $10K to recover them".
By that point it will be late to tell her "shouldn't have been storing them in a disk permanently attached to your windows laptop".
But I don't know how to stop her. I won't convince her to use linux. I won't manage to teach her not to execute random crap once per year.
Should I trust hard drives to store data for decades?
Just go ahead and delete it all now, that way no harm can come to the files.
What you you suggest? Everyone one OSx so it becomes the biggest target base so the majority of malware is written for it then we can say that's what you get for using a mac?
we cant put as much effort into catching these fraudsters as we put into catching underwear bombers.
The bombers come to you, all you have to do is grab their junk.
haha, nice.
I am altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further.
Never, ever buy a rent controlled apartment. Unless you have insider information that the renter is terminal.
If you buy something why would you also rent it?
Please don't. An unauthorized person did this and we have rectified the situation with the tenants.
My cousin is a lawyer who is representing some of the tenants. I have not heard about this, then again I have not heard news since yesterday.
A lawyer, representing people who were asked to like a page on facebook? Do you people need a lawyer to take a shit too?

I use YTD too. It's just works great. The converter is so handy.

> temperatures on Mars may hit a high at noon at the equator in the summer of roughly 70 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius)
So, the Martian equator is like living in the UK?
I wish we could get 20 degrees.
