For those that are interested Ark is also out on early-access on SteamOS/Linuxflavorofchoice. Though there is no mention in the article. Not too surprising...
Because the article is more about cross play and sony than it is about ark or minecraft.
So in other words, false advertising is fine, they should be allowed to do it.
Removing functionality from a product after purchase is also fine, they should definitely be allowed to remove any functionality they want after purchase. If I wake up tomorrow and the car is incapable of being put in to drive, that's fine too, after all, I must have just misunderstood their advertising that said it could drive.
I've provided proof of their lies. I've documented what the vehicle could do when I bought it that it can no longer do. The former is FRAUD, the latter is THEFT of functionality.
I own the car, they don't. They're not allowed to remove functionality after purchase.
They took money based on specific promises, they are not allowed to take that money without providing what they promised in their contract.
But of course none of that matters, because I can't afford tens of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees, plus many many hours of my life to sue them.
All I can do is warn other people not to do business with this super slimy company, and make sure that I never give them another penny as long as I live.
False advertising is an oxymoron. All advertising is false, an honest ad is a rare beast indeed. If it's so bad why don't you go get a refund or sell it on to some other sucker and you can be the one bigging up what it can actually do.
If the manufacturer of a sound system has stated that its devices may eventually cease to function, I find it hard to imagine that a court would find that it was as described when sold.
Kind of goes without saying really. My sound system is a mini-amp and a couple of floor standers. Not connected to anything but each other but it's inevitable they will eventually cease to function.
This is what the future looks like in the IoT, oh brave new world.
Even if it is clear that the system was at fault and that no exploit was used, that person would not get to keep the goods over here.
But would they be charged with a crime?
It depends on scale, doing it now and again on small things for yourself would probably get you told off. Ordering a quarter millions worth of everything you can and you'd probably be looking at some kind of fraud or intent charges.
Right. We should tax the workers AND the company that pays them. Double taxing is a win! Can we find a way to triple tax? More money for government programs so you don't need to work.
Of course you can, you tax them when they spend it.
Actually, the Electoral College is a handcuffed and corrupt body. If the Electoral College functioned the way it was originally intended then every member of it would cast their votes as they saw fit for whichever candidate they thought was better. However, it's members have been handcuffed by a variety of state constitutions that force a state's electors to vote according to their state's majority opinion. Electors don't vote as they see fit as originally intended. The Electoral College is in no way a Representative body when members of a given state cast all their votes one direction over a 51%/49% public vote in their state. If Electoral Votes were actually representative of the popular vote in each state during the last election, then neither candidate would have received 270 votes.
Well if each member can just vote for whoever they see fit and their votes are the only ones that count then what would be the point in the whole election charade?
Female engineers, could you please revisit this topic on Slashdot, yet again, to generate a big spike in ad traffic? In a week, we'll ask male engineers to say what they thought about what the female engineers thought. Because this definitely hasn't been discussed yet, and female engineers certainly wouldn't have participated earlier, not until they were asked to.
Really?
They'll be asking for nazi's opinions next time, that'll really get the clickbait going.
There has been tons of opinions asserting that the brains of females and males are not different in any respect and that there is no reason a female can't be a brilliant scientist or engineer.
There might not be physical differences but they definitely have different wiring. But yeah that's no reason a female can't be a brilliant scientist, engineer or whatever really.
As far as I understand it (not very well) an exit node is where the data comes out of the dark web so to speak to be transmitted to you over the regular network. If they control the nodes they can potentially see what's going where negating the point. Could be wrong though, google probably knows.
Yes, good one, morons. For the sake of virtue-signalling, you've pushed the Nazis into a place where they can plot in peace with no-one to point out what idiots they are.
Hope you'll be happy when they're putting you in death camps in a few years.
If all it takes is a site on the darkweb to do some plotting then I hope you'll be looking forward to my actual happy camps I'm going to put you in. Right, off to plot.
This seems to be more of a store than a subscription streaming service. Samsung figure that if you can buy movies directly from the TV UI (which they will advertise at you and your children with no opt out) they can get some extra revenue.
Well that's what you get for plugging your tv into the internet.
Hi. Welcome to being an edge case. 99.99% of people aren't you.
Yet they all need the 'pro' model? if the top line is supposed to just do what most people do what are the people who don't do that supposed to do? Well, they shouldn't be buying macs at all but that's besides the point.

It's a good job you put that last bit on so people know who posted......
How many votes do you think are actually cast for the President? Trump won the majority vote. Provably so...
To be honest, going against Hillary Clinton, fucking Charles Manson probably could've won it.
I imagine there will be a day when my so-called smart TV is nothing more than a CRT screen.
Your so called smart TV will never be a CRT screen and by the sounds of it, is smarter than you.

I'd also be surprised if a few thousand clock cycles is enough computation to decide if I am who I am.
Of course you are who you are, it's if you are who you are supposed to be.
A million millionths?
Isn't a million millionths one?
the point is to provide ease of use..
fingerprint scanner works fine enough.
I still don't know what was wrong with a pin. Just as quick and secure.
It's.

Yeah, maybe for robots.
Just use groove..............sorry thought I could do it with a straight face.

Now you're getting to bloat. You don't need one program that does everything.

Depends, if they want you to watch the ads you are. The programme is only a way to try and make you watch the ads anyway.
Women will overlook a lot of physical shortcomings if you're rich.
