Over time, HP has killed more than their share of OSes. Here is a list (feel free to chime in)
Apollo Systems Domain/OS Compaq/DEC Tru-64 UNIX (OSF/1) Compaq/DEC OpenVMS
I remember the last OS they killed, Tru-64. When the purchase was made, the news was posted to Slashdot. I made the predictive post "Read My Lips - HP will kill Tru-64". I got flamed beyond recognition, mostly by programmers on Tru-64 and SysAdmins and Tru-64 affectionatos. Now, some 10 years later, as Tru-64 has been EOL by HP, my prediction rings true and those flamers, well, were WRONG.
I don't think HP can kill Linux because Linux is Open Source and not owned by any single company. However, the poster is right...if anyone could kill Linux, it would be HP. Note that HP could kill Linux quicker than SCO or Microsoft, and they've tried and failed.
As Morpheus explains to Neo, there was a catastrophic war between the humans and the machines, after the humans had produced AI, a sentient robot that spawned a race of its own. It isn't known now who started the war, but it did follow a long period of machine exploitation by humans. What is known is that it was the humans who "scorched the sky", blocking out the sun's rays, in an attempt at machine genocide--since the machines needed solar power to survive. In response and retaliation the machines subdued the humans and made them into sources of energy--batteries, in effect. http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/new_p hil_fr_mcginn.html
I think the people of Toronto chased the photo radar out of the country to East Cleveland (suburb of Cleveland, Ohio). We have the same photo radar setup, and the tags say ONTARIO.
These photo radar has been proven through TV interviews (or "no comment") of City Officials as a "cash cow" for a "cash starved" city.
One case in point: They place the camera in a School Zone. When they are NOT there, the School Zone lights flash to warn of the "20MPH" zone. When the photo radar truck IS there, the lights ARE TURNED OFF AND NEVER COME ON.
HAL: I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid.
Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
Dave Bowman: Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me.
HAL: It's called "Daisy."
[sings while slowing down]
HAL: Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.
Circuit City has *5* systems for sale, though 1 of them looks like it's only purpose is to convert vinyl to Mp3 format.
As far as records/albums, Circuity City has them but on special order. Best Buy does not seem to offer them at all, at least not through a quick search of their online inventory.
And if America's Largest Retailer (http://www.walmart.com) doesn't sell turntables or vinyl records, then there must not be any money in selling the item.
In other words, if vinyl is making a comeback then somebody better tell the stores to start stocking players and music.
Vinyl will always be a nostagic item, not a "mass public popular" item.

Kerry's top Ten Flip-Flops
Compared to Kerry, I'll take Bush anyday. At least he doesn't flipflop on issues. I can't imagine how
Kerry in office would have handled Iraq (total withdrawal??), Katrina (yeah, save the people), the economy
(raise taxe$) and other issues.
Bush may not be perfect, but he's no John Kerry...
What do you mean? Breakfast DOES have magical powers!
It's also made McDonalds, Burger King, and even Taco Bell a pot of gold.
McDonalds even "double down" on the bet, with an "all day Breakfast" menu.
It's 1:30, and I'm now heading to McDonalds for some pancakes and McMuffin! So Delicious!
Care to join me? :-)
So, if we get too many of these "containers" together, and they burst/explode, will we have a Nuclear Rocket Motor?

So...is this the beginning of Protoculture?
Surely the Robotech Masters and the Zentraedi are not far behind!
I guess Samsung should have used this quote for their defense and they would have won...

As Steve Jobs said himself,
"Good artists copy...Great artists steal".
"We ... have been SHAMELESS at STEALING GREAT IDEAS."
Then just claim Samsung is a great artist like Apple. Case closed!
...we will hear "Papers Please!" in Soviet Russia!
I just hope your papers are in order. It's cold in Siberia this time of the year!
but it was _us_ who scorched the sky...

I compiled this code, and it gave me the message "Syntax Error: line 5"...
Maybe NASA should watch "The Matrix"...

Steve Jobs once said (to John Sculley):
;-)
"Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to change the world?"
In this case, it is better to sell sugar water...
I heard over the news that Microsoft announced that due to lackluster sales of Vista they are going to reduce the price by 75%... ...
Oh, you would have to be an April Fool to believe Microsoft would ever *REDUCE* the price of their software.

I wonder what kind of information (Very Work Safe) is stored on this page?
Must be top secret info!!!
A parallel can also be said of
Windows (Networking) vs. Novell (Networking)
Word Perfect vs. MS Word
Lotus 1-2-3 vs. MS Excel
and my favorite (currently in progress)
XBOX vs. Playstation

Nope, it's not just Detroit. The article is written/published in UK. I think the US has ditched the vinyl, but it is making a "comeback" in the UK.
After all, when was the last time you saw a vinyl record player in Circuit City, Best Buy, SAMS Club, etc?

They couldn't re-install...the PC owner lost his Microsoft license key, and using Ballmer's key would have violated Microsoft EULA.
