i think censoring something is wrong, and just more control by the parents or other guardian is needed. if a kid tries to see something but then is told "sorry you aren't allowed to see this" the kid is really going to think "why can't i see it, i wonder what it is" and then keep trying to find out until they finally do know what it is.
the more taboo a subject and the more you keep kids from seeing it, the more they want to see it. it's only natural.
thanks for that book Mr. Moody...
thanks
right, how much did we say?
umm, i think about $2 million
ok then, let's call it a round $50 million, and what say you put in a good word for us on your next article, eh?
i remember old internet browsers - they were all just fields in those days.
but really, i remember back in the 70s when all we could do was look up a book to see if it was in some library in California. not much good when you're at uni in england, but hey.
One day i went to a cash machine (ATM) at the Natwest bank, and all there was on the screen was an NT4 "Press CTRL ALT DELETE to log on" message box. I dunno, maybe the power had gone down or something and it came back looking like that.
People smoke - even though they know it will kill them.
People don't eat GM food - because it might be bad for you.
People use mobile phones a lot - even though it's a fact that they give off radiation, and people know it.
If you erect a phone mast next to someone's house they'll moan like anything, all the time complaining about the radiation coming from it and giving them cancer, but then they'll happily put a smaller version of it right next to their head for 5 minutes while they make a phonecall.
Also, even if they are destroyed they will have hit the sail and exerted a forward force, and with the formula of momentum, because they are travelling so fast, i think they will have a tremendous effect, especially because they are very small and many can hit the sail at the same time. it's the same thing when a meteor hits the earth - even though they can be quite small (just the size of a football) they create a huge mess on the ground, because of their high velocity.
let me guess - they're going to attach a sail to the front of the craft and then attach some sort of fan on the back so it blows whatever it's meant to blow into the sail and hey-presto, the craft will move forwards.
i mean, that would hurt just a little don't you think. The whole concept is just stupid, and so many people have been duped into believing it, even at the BBC.
yeah - maybe they could find an old Amber Rhyser that's been preserved in tree sap and use that DNA along with this new large mouse DNA, and they might be on to something.
i can picture it now - "Amber Rhyser and the Hendersons"
baan - enterprise resource planning (ERP) market. Interesting information. Open source shenanigans are an insightful opportunity to those folks at redhat. Business software and other keywords are also a bonus to society, £54 million.

linux platforms are an investment for the future industry, indeed.
Metallica are well within their right, and i agree with them - i like their music too, but if i intentionally illegally copy their work then i must suffer the consequences.

no matter what the scum trolls think, i still think jon katz is a very good journalist, and very thorough.
