  1. oh geez on Dreamworks Acquires Rights for Ghost in the Shell · · Score: 1

I'm going to fucking cry. Now Akira will be ruined soon, then GITS, then we can move on and murder Perfect Blue, and do a live action Patlabor starring Shia Lebeouf, and eventually everything good in this world will have been destroyed by Hollywood.

  3. Re:Who this will be good for: PC musicians. on Two Videos of E-Lead's Noahpad in Action · · Score: 1

Disagree entirely. I'm a laptop Musician, and I'd never, EVER use this thing in a live or studio environment. When you use a laptop on stage to DJ, run sequences or anything else, you need to be able to make precise, and very quick, changes to the DAW software you are using, both with keyboard and mouse. This thing's interface would be nothing more than a huge PITA to anyone who is serious about what they do with audio software. In addition, it's a little bigger than my right hand - that little bit of screen real estate would make using this thing in any situation entirely impossible. Seriously - Ableton Live on a 8 inch screen? No thanks.

Never, ever. Sorry. I doubt it's powerful, stable, or useful enough at all to replace my Macbook that has withstood hundreds of live shows and countless studio sessions. This thing is an epic fail - I hope the investors are looking real hard at where their money went.

  5. This article fails on What's the Best Game Console of All Time? · · Score: 1

I think the SNES was the best game system of all time, and here's why; no other system, in my mind, has ever had music composed so well for its games. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Legend of Gaia; these are the games that had some of the best music in the history of video games (IMHO), and it was all composed without REAL instruments. The NES also had some of the most amazing music ever composed (Mega Man II and III anyone?), but all this guy is looking at is some subjective material that he doesn't seem to know much about.

I haven't heard music this impressive in any later system, not consistently.

  6. Re:42 million dollars on Postal Service Surcharge Could Slash Netflix Profit · · Score: 0, Troll

Not when that 42 million dollars is eventually going to come out of Taxpayer money, y'know.

Has anyone mentioned that the blockbuster envelopes use a lot more paper than the Netflix ones? I get that they're "not as floppy", I'm glad that's a technical term now - but using a heavier paper equals more paper used, and I certainly doubt that Blockbuster gives a rat's ass about their mailer being environmentally friendly in any fashion. Probably not, since this article is mostly supposed to make me buy blockbuster stock, or make me switch to Blockbuster because my membership dues could go up with Netflix. I wouldn't do EITHER, because blockbuster's mail service SUCKS, have you ever been in a Blockbuster? Fifty copies of "Jingle all the way", and nothing worth a crap to watch. Now go online. Netflix's selection is a million times better, and they actually have films that I care to watch rather than nothing but the usual Hollywood schlock. Catch on earlier, USPS - and consider at the same time that Netflix is probably bringing more business to the USPS than they realize or want to admit, being that, when was the last time you wrote a snail mail letter to your friend in New York? Oh, never? Hmmm... but emails have nothing to do with that, right?

Also someone mentioned making the online distribution more available, both companies need to learn something when it comes to that - Netflix's online service only works with Windows machines, period, because it uses windows DRM. I don't even know if Blockbuster has one, but it would probably be the same. Any and all movie distribution services on the net need to learn that you can't just expect us all to own windows machines to download and watch movies LEGALLY on the net.

Right, and it's better for our presidential wannabes to be sponsored by big oil, private investors and corporate moguls who do it under the table? At least Colbert's pointing out that all these jerks are just the same, he's simply putting it out in the open. Everyone running for president now, or who has in the past, has money coming from investors who are doing just that, _investing_, in order to get what they want, how they want it, and with who they want it. Get over it, people.

  15. the question really is on Can Apple + AT&T Shut Down iPhone Unlockers? · · Score: 2, Insightful

The question really is not can they, it's _should_ they? They're liable to alienate a lot of potential customers if they start cracking down on everyone. I understand that it's a losing money situation, but they might stand to lose a lot more if they start crying foul left and right about this. Either way, it seems like it'll be hard for someone to immediately get T-mobile service on their hacked iPhone, but I could be wrong - I'm looking forward to the first story of someone who goes into a T-mobile store or thereabouts and requests service for their unlocked iPhone.
