I always have found exotic to pay anything from my [high-end] mobile device. Call me oldschooler, but I still think they're too insecure, and they're not as insecure as they could be. That's really scary.
In the other hand, what else do you want to be posted about this? It's a just a Ripley's little story in a small town related to a man who is for sure barely known by anyone beyond his own backyard.
As as former Google user I find the current interface annoying (i.e. when you hit the down key it doesn't scrolls the page down but highlights the next search result). Switching to the AntiChrist is just a no-go. So I prefer to use an emerging search engine without the big-corporation bad habits like DuckDuckGo.
Even if Flash didn't support WebM, the question the developers/streaming providers must be asking themselves is how long will it take for the other browsers to support HTML 5 and WebM properly.
I don't think the world is going to end in 2012 because of the movie, but because of CNN. Haven't you seen the news lately? [apocalyptic] We're already screwed, man.[/apocalyptic]
Yeah. It's kinda weird. And even more the fact that "support servers responsible for offline instant messaging became overloaded" ended up with the crash of such an important portion of the network.
But in the other hand, I finally understand why Skype doesn't provide a version other than 2.1 beta 2 for Linux (compared to the 5.0.0.156 in Windows). It's for our own safety!
I'd bet for a distro based on MeeGo (or MeeGo itself). In general, the conventional Linux distributions are still stuck in the desktop/laptop interface and that's clear if you look at the picture shown in TFA. I'll spend a couple days playing around with the Nokia MeeGo image for the N900 to see how it goes, but the screenshots look promising. That could be the future of Linux (non-Android) GUIs for mobile devices.
If I were going to send a message to the victim I'd send chunk of file wrapped in a napkin. Something like:
"0xFA 0xAA 0x15". Give us the money or the next thing you'll see will be a "0x00"
Diyers can use this kit.

And she kisses you with that mouth? Gosh...

Emanuelle in Space has already explored some of the possibilities.
60% is not enough yet for the providers to switch. Probably after IE begins to support it.
Not to troll, but technically WebM can't be opensource since it's not software. Decoders of the contained elements can.

Sleeping for more than 8 hours has been proved to be highly unhealthy.

Just like his concern about Java?

You could contact the FSF. They have a legal department that can help you with this.
OK, I know this movie. It's called "Resistance is futile".
