He didn't want to burden others. He knew he would lose control over his abilities so he chose the death he wanted. Faced with incalculable pain and suffering both personally and his family, he took his life. He is no hero, he was a man who faced his demons the best he knew how.
Apple does have an in-between system, it's the iMac. It may not be your desired in-between system, but in that case Apple really isn't catering to you.
Mac Pro CPUs are Xeons, not Core 2. Spec a Dell w/ Xeons and you've got Mac Pro price. Spec a Dell w/ Core 2 and an LCD, you've got iMac price.
Most people who buy Macs don't want to futz around w/ tweaking or repeatedly adjusting their system - they just want it to work well and reliably. For a high end user, you get that w/ the Mac Pro. Vis a vis, the iMac with it's intermediate audience.
Build a hack if you really want a system that caters exactly to your wants.
NO. If you gain something that you did not pay for that wasn't given freely from the first party, you've stolen that something. Stealing is not a 1 way activity. Even if you don't steal a physical item, you are still on the receiving end and depriving of the transaction necessary for the other party.
It reminds me of those crazy old timey marijuana/narco laws (History Channel w/ their Hooked program).. along the lines of it being ok to grow and to sell, but was illegal to possess. Makes you feel like you have a right still, but effectively quashing any attempt to take advantage of the right.
An updated UI, full 64bit operation, multi-core acceleration (makes computer faster), GPGPU (also makes computer faster), a new version of QT and a new and improved printing system
Not as much as 10.4 to 10.5, and very little of it can be made into flashy 10' posters akin to Apple's traditional chic marketing, but still sounds like a hell of a lot.
*shrug* Service Packs will always be about bug fixes.
Actually doesn't seem like that bad of an idea for a patent. Granted the system is full of abuse, but at least this one is well intentioned and could save a life.
All of those things stop lasting because of your influence upon them or because of your actions. Things do have a limited lifespan, but not an artificial one. A DRM company going under isn't because of your influence - it's because of their action.
Imagine LG going out of business and taking all of our LCDs, TVs, cell phones, etc with them.
There just wasn't anything better at the time. My generation.. it's all about how great Quake/Doom/Duke Nukem and how nothing lives up to the gameplay they offered. The more immediate generations will proclaim how nothing before Halo was any good and very little after has come close.
20 years from now we'll have the same thing.
(personally, I think the games we have now are the best (playing/looking/story(not everything of course)/etc) we've ever had)
Prey's my favorite all time game (might even overtake HL2 for me now that I think about it) - the story was just so layered and engaging. To me, Prey felt like some sort of perfect amalgamation of really good book and really good game. Kept me engrossed and let me drive the story.
The resurrection system was a part of it I think. I'm beyond the point in gaming where my performance is based on twitch reflexes, or how quickly I can memorize routes/attacks/etc. Those aren't interesting or rewarding to me, if anything, they force the story you're playing to become secondary.
I really only use Windows for a few games (Stalker, HL/Steam, WOW, Guild Wars and going to try out Trasa again now that it's $free$). I've got a MBP and Vista 64 has been just fine on it. I already have the isos for both 32 and 64bit W7 beta, so would I be doing myself harm by trying one?
Is it stable-enough to be used as a primary Windows OS, when you really don't use Windows all that much?
That is all.
Time to stop dehumanizing our fellow humans.

Sooner or later they're going to come after me because the A440 I play sounds a bit too similar to Green Day's A440.
God help the drummers with their 40 essential rudiments.
I was going to say.. 'The new Alone In The Dark is pretty damn good' but I just googled to make sure, and turns out it was done by Atari, not Sega.
So yeah.. Sega sucks.

Rubber/glue is about as opposite from the Golden Rule as a kid's sing-song can get.
Don't worry, he's gonna die just like the rest of us. Chances are, it'll be long, drawn out and very painful :)
Too many commas.
Take an Office XP document and open it in Office 2003 and it will look 100%. Why are you making a flawed backwards comparison?
If you're buying a house, wouldn't you expect a free/$30 dishwasher with it?
CS2 works fine under SL using both native Intel and Rosetta. The original PPC CS is blazingly fast under Rosetta (like.. wow fast).
Of course they do.. it's the price/performance decision between an iMac and a Mac Pro.
If you want a Mac that does exactly what you want it to do, go to a computer show/newegg and spec a fully compatible Hackintosh. Problem solved.

Double speak ftw!

The irony is that a cloud was struck by lightning. Lightning usually comes from clouds.
Sometimes we all need to tone back the nerd a bit :)

$235 for the SLI plunge here.
I've got dual 9800 GTs with a Zotac SLI board for $55, each 9800 was $90. Free shipping with the Negg.
I'll disagree with you :)

Anyone who didn't get Out Of Order from the context of your post should have their programming nerd id badge revoked :)
Every TOS ever written has included this clause.
