    Branches of the tree of life become irrelevant ant die off. That's natural and normal.

    But that is not even remotely equivalent to taking an axe to the trunk or lopping off healthy branches to make way for the diseased.

    Human actions are part of the evolutionary process as well. Same as all other animals.

    Your logic here contradicts itself. If the runaway warming continued indefinitely last time, then it wouldn't have come down (see last ice age) and be going back up again.

    How about the National Fire Protection Association, which writes the fire codes? That's another safety organization started by insurance companies, and insurance companies wouldn't insure a building unless it met fire code.

    But is the fire code truly optional, or does government use penalties to coerce you to follow them?

    Because you know some people would be totally fine building uninsured buildings......

  18. If you ever watch this show (which is often quite interesting BTW), you will note that homicide investigators often use Facebook as an investigative tool to find info on suspects and their acquaintances.

    The lesson, of course, is that if you are a criminal you should not be using Facebook, period.

    They already do. Chemotherapy drugs, for instance, are bad for you. They are better than cancer though.

    Radiotherapy too for that matter.

    Particularly sick people. Nothing like getting on a bus with people sneezing and hacking away in confined quarters.

    No, I meant climate. Rainfall patterns. Greening and desertification. Long term stuff, though even predicting things like droughts (~weather) well in advance would be profitable.

    You want to take their truck from civilization to the middle of nowhere? Of course that is going to cost you.

    The people bringing it back get a break, cause that is what they would have to do anyway.
