Yes XP will run on it using VPC. The question is why.
On the G4 you can run OSX, OS9, XP and rootless XWindows all at the same time. The only problem is you have to reboot to run Linux. But then you can run the MacOS from within Linux.
Flexibility of the Mac is one of its strong suits. Check out the different Gnu Darwin, Darwin, and Xon X sites. That is where the action is
But I use a Mac to run Linux? Where can I find non proprietary hardware? If I get a PC I have to pay the MS tax unless I get a naked PC, then I am seen as a pirate. The embedded code in the chips is not open source.
It installed with no problem, works well. I didn't like the fact that I had to log in as administrator, and thought that odd. Kudos to them for fixing it so fast. It is not like them to release defective software. Sorry for all those who lost data.
I am glad they are not like another software maker who would insist that it is a feature, not a bug.
If you look inside the iTunes 2.0 package, you'll see in the Resources folder a file named "iTunes-wma.icns." Could this indicate upcoming support for Microsoft's Windows Media format for iTunes? Maybe Apple is planning on supporting WMA on Mac OS X and doing a flash upgrade to the iPod's firmware in preparation for Windows support with iPod (and possibly iTunes).
the sad thing is, they will most likely make it so inconvenient for you, you will have to move to XP to stay connected with the rest of the world.
XP was not for the advancement of technology, but for revenue growth. Because they have saturated the market, there is nowhere to go but over the ground they have already plowed.
XP is a trap, and you are smart enough and unwilling to enter. Sooner or later they will have to make you enter. They have no choice. they have to trap you into an expensive cycle of upgrades and fees for service.
Work for alternatives. Urge Palm to open BeOS, support OSX and the Nix's. Use non MS technology like Mozilla and Real Player.
Show your friends that there is something outside of the world according to Redmond.
I have to agree. Luna was inspired by Aqua, but fell short. I see it as the same old 2000 interface with a bright coat of paint. Sure there are nice new geegaws, but I don't see a compelling reason to move up to it.
I do like OSX's use of UNIX. this gives the users unlimited options. They can even run Windows on it.
Steve knew that if he built it (a UNIX based OS) the UNIX developers would come.
MS is now the outsider, by not being in the UNIX playground. While they charge developers for the priv. of developing for.Net, Apple and the UNIX developer world are moving closer together.
Bullshit, it works quite well. I have it on my OSX , OS9 and YDL box. It is my primary browser. I got rid of IE because it would automatically decompress and execute applications, and there was no way to keep it from doing it other than no use it.
If you have trouble with Mozilla, try the newest version, it is quite good.
As much as I love OmniWeb and Opera, neither one can do what Mozilla.9.5 can do.
It hasn't crashed once on me since I installed it.
So they let them use C# for free, so what. Look at the free Linux and OSX developement tools. You can check Apples ADC or any Lunix distribution. C# and VB for free? BFD
Your English was good enough to get the point across.
I feel that the designs of the new PowerBooks and desktops was influenced by Japanese industrial design. I wish more American companies were as bold as the Japanese when it comes to consumer product design.
They use QNX for the letter sorting machines, and some optical scanners use Linux Some Vax is also used. some NT is used, for networking, and WebObjects is used for the intranet.
The non essential tasks are done on Windows 95. The supervisors are the lucky ones to use the Windows machines.
After four months the supervisor still hasn't figured out how to change the "You Suck" message that crawls across his screen saver , nor can he figure out how to put the taskbar back on on the bottom of the screen.
Got two 6" Bose and two Yamaha studio monitors. A friend gave me a no name subwoofer. It makes the hair on my legs tingle. This is run through my wife's stage amp and mixer. UUURRRGGGHHH
My friend has the Harmon Kardon sound sticks and subwoofer for his iMac. The sound very good. But my set up will kill small animals at 50 yards.
Flexibility is what it is all about. Not having to reboot to enjoy both Linux and MacOS is a big selling point, just as being able to run Classic, OSX and XWindows apps at the same time.
BTW, this is posted using OSX10.1 It is a vast improvement over 10.04. As they say, it rocks.
But what it comes down to is getting work done. Having OSX has not lessened my Linux time. I am doing some graphics on My OSX machine, and surfing in YellowDog Linux on my G3.
Yeah, and I am using GIMP and Photoshop today, that is Classic(OS9.2.1) OSX, and XDarwin. Let's see ya do that on your GateWay. OSX is about flexibility. Jobs knew that butting heads with Gates is a losing strategy, OSX is an end run. He is uniting the NIX world.
Insisting on Purity will only slow our movement. It was good to get a solid base, but now it is time to be inclusive.
Get yourself an iBook and see what OSX is all about.
your computer can read it out loud for you.

Yes I am running BSD, you still running Windows?

Are pencil and paper GPL?

The equalizer actually works!

Here is an old screenshot, several months old that is.
rootless
UNIX for the rest of us.
It gives expanded resources. You can run it rootless so XWindows apps run alongside Aqua apps.
Steve Jobs knew this would happen. Kind of like Field of Dreams, "If you build it, they will come."
Here is one screenshotWindowmaker and other goodies
this one is nice too. a lot going on

Mac's will be running PS2 games real soon. It is in the works. Yes is does run Linux and is BSD.
The PS2 will be available with Linux soon too. It uses FireWire so maybe a hack for the iPod will appear in the near future.
It won't be accepted because of MS rules.
Bullshit, it works quite well. I have it on my OSX , OS9 and YDL box. It is my primary browser. I got rid of IE because it would automatically decompress and execute applications, and there was no way to keep it from doing it other than no use it.

I know that there is some work being done to support FireWire devices in YellowDog Linux.
10mgs bootloader, 128mgs swap, 2gigs root, the rest music.
Ahhh, hmmm......I am getting dizzy.
Your English was good enough to get the point across.

Wait for the speed bump coming soon and you can do it faster, maybe 8 seconds.
Record you actions in AppleScript and do it over and over again with just a double click on the icon.
YDL is so fine. The installer is good if you read the instructions.

Got mine a Target. It is wood and holds 250lbs. My wife has one for her plants and glass collection.

How could they have done something so obvious by mistake?

It has a way to go before it can beat OmniWeb. I love that browser.
Make sure Roe vs Wade is not overturned. The opinion said we do have a right to privacy.
The conservatives didn't care about abortion, they just didn't like there being restraints on their control of our private lives.
