At the rate we're going we won't have gas money for our helicopters let alone money to equip them with the latest technology... and thats probably a good thing.
Skynet on the other hand has no funding issues... money is just numbers on a computer after all.
I told them as much when I called them... their response "we can modify the contract, it's in the contract you signed" or something to that effect. What they're doing is illegal IMO, but who can/will hold them accountable? Some days I wish I was a lawyer with the time and money.
My wife used her upgrade discount to surprise me with an iPhone4 on my birthday. I started using it and within 2 weeks ATT sent me an email stating that they had "upgraded" my account from my Unlimited data plan to their 2GB iPhone data plan and my bill went up by $15/mo. I'd cancel but I'm still on a contract and would get shafted with a termination fee... called att and complained but it was a waste of time, they've got me on the hook and they know it. F-U AT&T!!!
I personally decided that cable was no longer worth the cost especially since you can get OTA HD channels for free and the funny thing is that it seems like OTA channels actually have LESS ads than most of the cable channels!
The "tallying small data usage" theory is garbage... however I'm not surprised your iPhone is spying on you and reporting back to it's mothership (aka Apple)
I saw a television ad for this game last week! Too bad they're pulling it... I'm not a huge gamer but new FPS games always get my attention and I would have bought it.
while I am completely in favor of the right to free speech, if you're on a scholarship maybe you shouldn't go around bashing the school or it's professors without first thinking of the potential consequences.
'Instead, they are trying to take out the technology that makes stealing possible.'
Can you really blame them? They view the technology as the root of all their problems.
How do you kill a weed in your lawn? You haveto get the root. This is exactly what they are trying to do.
The ability to encode, play, and copy music digitally has fractured their delicately crafted scheme they built when CD's were first introduced, their idea of a perfect world was one where everyone used CD's and no one had the ability to copy them.
Lego's definitely helped make me who I am today, I useto spend hours and hours playing with them, just the basic kits, before they got all crazy.
My friends had loads of space lego's and we useto hook up a vacuum in reverse (as a blower) and make some crazy creations that would launch 'rockets' (stacks of 1x1 blocks)... ah the memories:-)
My parents threw out all the lego's when I was 13 that really sucked but Radio Shack became my new home and I spent every dime I had buying electronic parts and building electronic creations. From there I fixed my first computer (a Commodore 64 with 6510 MP) and started programming BASIC, didn't even have a storage device so I couldn't turn off the computer or I would lose my programs.
I was given an 80386DX33 computer when I was 15 and spent every waking moment coding in every language I could get my hands on... then my parents burned (yes burned, with fire) my whole system and I lost everything.
Looking back I guess things turned out alright I'm 22 now and the point... yes there is a point to my rambling... well it all started with the LEGO;-)
Every young child deserves some Lego's because a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Perhaps this has already been expressed by another member but thought I would throw my two cents in.
1. Having an MP3 of a song from a CD you own is not illegal. 2. Downloading an MP3 of a song from a CD you own is not illegal.
It is just that simple. End of story. Anyone using napster to 'steal' the music they download by not having or buying the CD if they keep the music is in the wrong but that is on each individual and Napster should not give even an inch because they have not broken ANY laws.
I wonder how the judge was bribed to rule against napster so quickly?? It just seems that there should be alot more taken into consideration before making a ruling like that. Assuming that the story is true.
The governments idea of security is the TSA. I'd hate to see what the internet equivalent would be.
It's not "roadside assistance" it's a "Rescue Wagon"!
California is already over 2 billion short on the budget this year and is long overdue for a serious financial wake-up call.
Hope all the other states are taking notes on "what not to do"... Projects like the "high speed" rail just dump gas on the fire.
Way to go spendthrift voters of California!

...technology for skynet to use when hunting us in the future. Keep up the good work!
Not if you had kept your Media Net plan from 6+ years ago. My data plan was $15/mo for unlimited data.

Don't overlook the millions on welfare and the many recipients of government support. They will always vote themselves a "raise".
Of course with our two card monty, er, party system it doesn't really matter anymore anyway.
Microsoft starts charging for IE to pay the "patent troll".
I've got a big screen HDTV, progressive scan DVD, DTS surround sound... microwave popcorn and my favorite beer.
more enjoyable and cheaper at that... nuff said.

Universal City Studios Wins!

Probably why my parents got fed up with lego's and threw all mine away when I was 13.
oh what a tragic day.
