Not in the case of Apple. Apple thrives on the rumor mill. If this is true, a bunch of people (including myself) will possibly wait till macworld now before buying a new phone. So if it's true, I don't think it leaking out will sink this ship, it just gave it a head start out of the dock.
This has long been a concern of Flickr users. I was one of them, so I wrote an application that will allow you to download your pictures back from Flickr. I know it doesn't solve the entire concern of moving your library, but it is a start. You can check it out here.
Didn't AMD start the whole thing? We could also blame Apple for starting the conversation of the "Mega Hertz Myth" too. But I like those 2 companies, so lets just blame Microsoft for the whole thing instead.;)
I just bought this game and defeted 3 Colossi so far and I'm a bit disapointed in the game. All the reviews I read were giving it stunning remarks. But as I play, I'm bored already. All you do is go from the temple place and kill a Colossi, then back to the temple, kill another. All the while it takes you 10 minutes to ride your horse to the next one. Just seems like the game has no other point. They should have put some other enemies in the world for you to mess with on the way...I dunno...maybe I had the wrong idea about what the game was, but that is my take on it from playing it for 3 hours so far...Am I wrong??
Don't know what happend to my first reply...but...
This puts the G5 Powerbook on track for WWDC '05. I think it would be a great place to introduce what I think will be an engineering masterpiece. Let's keep our fingers crossed...who knows...maybe it will come sooner...;)
SideTrack rocks. I'd recommend it as well. You can do more than just set the side to a scroll area. you can also set the corners to act as buttons when you tap them. I have one corner set up as a right mouse button so now I don't care so much that I only have a one button mouse on my powerbook.;)
that does sound pretty cool. I hope it only activates with a real fast jerk though. I don't want my harddrive to stop everytime change positions on the couch...
You make good points, but actally I am suprised by this. The Wish Beta 2 opened up at the begining of the year and 9 days later they decide to cancel development. It seems that the new Wish beta was mainly to figure out the viability of the product. I would be interested to know what made them decied to drop the axe so quickly after beta 2 started.
In anycase, I'm in aggreement with others thinking that the MMO bubble is close to popping. Personally I don't all that much have time for MMOs...so no biggie for me...:)
Is it really helpful to sue people over it? They basically acknowledge that it is true and look how much publicity it is getting now. I have seen this story on 3 different news sites so far. So they aren't keeping it much more quite by sueing people...Maybe it is all just a publicity stunt to generate buzz...
We're all going to die...Enjoy it while you can...Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Great thing to bring up this time of year (Or any other time of year...) don't ya think?
does he have a backup of all the songs that used to be on mp3.com? That would like double his collection if not...:) he should host them all somewhere so we can all share the love.
Why hasn't any one asked for a PDA with a Hard drive? I currently have a Sony Clie NX60 that I love, but it would be sooo much better if it had a 40 GB drive in it. This way, I wouldn't need an iPod to play music, or a Archos AV Jukebox to play music and video. The screens on the newer generation PDA are beautiful, so we don't need improvment there to watch movies on it. So here is what I want:
-All current Palm OS 5/6 features (i.e. all PIM features) -Ability to sync with my mac.:) -40/60/80 GB harddrive -better movie and music playing apps from the manufactor (not just 3rd party that i have to buy seperately) -GPS -GPRS/3G support - and ability to sync over it -bluetooth -WiFi -Very long battery life - especially when watching movies. -1.3M+ pixel camera that can also caputre video. with integrated flash. -Probably not very realistic right now, but: It has a video projector on it that can project an image up to 30" wide. This would be very useful for a business person (as well as someone who just wants to project a movie on to a wall...hehe). You could just have a presentation on your PDA and project it onto the wall. -Able to make free VoIP phone calls like the Nintendo DS over WiFi
Nice to haves: -It runs Mac OS X -It is made by Apple...:) -Plugs into my head so I can just think and it will do what I want.
I have a T68m and it works great with iSync...So I don't know what you mean by that. Phone looks pretty sweet. But will we see it in the US before 3G phones come out???
First off, The Register posted this story yesterday. They have a lot of links to other phones out there as well.
I would like to point out the SonyEricsson P800 though (look in the products->coming soon). It is another phone running the Symbian OS, but a newer version. It will use the new UIQ interface, so it will have a touch screen and a stylus! It is also smaller than the 9290. It supports GPRS, and bluetooth as well. Oh ya, it has a digital camera built in too...:) It "should" be around $600-700 as well. It is also a world phone. Too bad it isn't coming out till this fall (probably later this year I'm guessing though).
One thing I would like to know about the 9290:
Does it support Mac OS X? I don't know if the P800 will yet either. SonyEricsson said they won't know till later if the P800 will.
Another phone that has been on slashdot is the HipTop over a Danger This phone should be out really soon. They told me end of May begining of June...but that is now. So we will see...:)
Hope that is some intresting news for everyone! If anyone has any power at sonyericsson, I would LOVE to test a P800...:)
I'm a big mac user, and I think this is awesome. I've been waiting for it to happen for about 3 months. I would have offered a prize myself, but I don't have $5000 laying around, or an iMac for that matter!:) One thing that I would love to see is a standalone DiVX player. DVD players can play VCDs, SVCD, and even some DVCD (which I'm not quite sure what they are...), so wouldn't it really kick this off if there was a DVD player that could play DiVX movies? All you big DVD companies that made the MP3 players (Raite and Shinco), give it a thought. Also, is the codec going to be only for viewing DiVX? Or will it allow us to encode our own DiVX? I would hope it would be both. We'll, that's my 2 cents. Let me know what you think! serff

We land on the equator! Am I a scientist? No, but I did stay at the holiday inn express last night...
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Skype? Does Skype have no play in the IM market? They have an IM client too you know....

I think it should be noted that this is a 2.0 Beta release according to the download page.
P.S. What happend to all the comments? I can't be first can I??
poor M$, they only made $9.67 Billion...now longhorn is going to slip another year. Good thing I got Tiger to hold me over...;)
Didn't they build this on MythBusters and it didn't work? It was a pretty cool project though. Must have taken forever to make.

Where is RiceBoy when you need him...;)

Maybe they should invest in some cleaners...
