I have considered examining the source for the protocols used and re-writing it in Python... I'm no delphi user by any measure, but most code is easy enough to figure out, esp serial protocols like that.
On the contrary, I find my T616 an excellent phone. Signal is average, but usability is great. It works with my bluetooth headset, dial up with my laptop or handheld, FMA keeps track of things when using my home or work desktops and locks/unlocks the screen when I leave/return to my system.
I even have a CAR-100 just to mess with things sometimes. My ring tone is just a midi file of the Doctor Who theme(and has been for 18 months - no jumping on the bandwagon here) and sounds excellent.
The camera, while low quality, has served me well, and I am currently re-writing my photo album code to support me e-mailing the pictures directly into the album.(But I will keep my Canon A80 - was skiing with it the other day, fell in the snow and covered the thing. It shutdown on impact, so I cleaned it up, wiped it down and started it right back up with no problems!)
Love FMA... I run FMA on my laptop, and leave the laptop in my bookbag, then I setup winamp to output to my bluetooth headset(I want the new HP headset, higher audio quality with the new audio profiles) and use my phone to control the music...
It's also nice for incoming call notification and using SMS to chat with a friend - using a full keyboard.
I only wish that I knew of a program like FMA on linux - anyone have a suggestion on that?
Cheap tests offered at the Ottawa open source weekend last year - I think $50CDN/test - I was able to take 3 tests in that time, and while dificult and wide ranged, they were passable with not studying if you are a sad pathetic looser with no life - ie me.
Seriously, they are not bad, and deserve more recognition in the industry.
On the other hand, my company states in it's contract with customers that an MCSE tech will be available to troubleshoot their issues 24/7. Seeming as I am not MCSE, when I go onsite they can in theory request another tech to work on the problem. It never happens, usually because I fix the problem.
Just because I don't have an MCSE, doesn't mean I cannot solve your problems. But I do want to do the studying for them to get myself up to speed on some of the server components that I don't know too well yet.
I had forgotten this series was coming, and since I watch almost no TV, have not yet seen ads for it.
Now that I have watched it, I've reminded my friends and co-workers and happilly post about it. I intend to watch it when it airs if only to see if this ver was a final cut or not... and because I've watched it 3 times already.
I've watched it, and some of the commercials, and think I will really like the new series.
Find a torrent of the current BBC commercials if you don't want to download, or didn't like, the leaked episode. It really does make things look interesting. (www.demonoid.com has a few versions of it, all high quality)
Basically, it comes down to knowing how the drive stores data. The whole: "magnetically aligns modecules of the platter" thing. Then there is the read: "general magnetic field in this general area of the platter".
When you overwrite data, it flips the majority of the molecules, but not all of them. If you read the drive at a higher resolution then the drie head uses, you can determine the sectors and also what may have been previously written due to statistical analysis of the ratios of orientations.
I could probably figure out the math, and suspect that for each generation of data - the math gets exponentially more complex... but it's late, so I won't.
I've watched it - I really like it, and think the actors have a lot of potential in their roles. I thought the TARDIS needed some work, but that's just opinion - it may grow on me yet.
Maybe I should should change that to - I've watched it 3 times in as many days...
As the good Doctor now says: "Fantastic!"
---
Doctor: "By the way, I'm The Doctor" Rose: "I'm Rose" Doctor: "Nice to meet you Rose. Now run for your life!"
Building blows up...
I do that for almost anything - I can name any song I know from the first second or two, have been annoying people with identifing episodes of CSI that I have seen with only a moments viewing at the beginning....
I don't watch much stuff twice for this reason - but then there is Red Dwarf - just as good on the 48th viewing as on the first....
Yup, always like it when Oribital's version of the theme hits my playlist - even got a nice video of them mixing it live somewhere - it's still on the bittorrent nets if people are after it.
The pathetic collection of "this sucks" "stop the jokes" "oh! the humanity!" commens will commence once again...
If you don't like it, leave.
is that too hard to comprehend?
I was looking forward to lowbrow geek humour, keeps me entertained one day out of the year - not much, but it's still free!

yeah, but check what zug.com pulled the past few days using fark as a medium...
Nobody is a trustworthy news source these days.
The purposeful dupes_weren't funny last year, either.. :)
I think slashdot should be more open to creating new categories as this one clearly shows.
Drinks are not hardware...
Yes the wireless chips and the nanobots that would be part of the drink and packaging are, but they are used in comination with a fluid medium.
All future Slashdot 04/01 jokes should now include an appropriatly created category for their placement.

Alright, I'll forgive you, only because your member number is lower then mine.
Anyone newer is automatically wrong.
ahem...
Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure
cough...
I have considered examining the source for the protocols used and re-writing it in Python... I'm no delphi user by any measure, but most code is easy enough to figure out, esp serial protocols like that.
Now just to find the time to code it.

Anyway, my 2c are not worth that much...
Better option - look up the Sony Ericsson CAR-100, it's the same idea, a hotweels sized rc car controlled via bluetooth using your phone.
just re-wire the electronics into the cars computer control system and viola!

But I did walk in and Ace it...

Agreed and Agreed.

You abviously don't ready slashdot then...
I'm buzzed.

Unspecified fact - I'm Canadian - it's cold round here these days - I don't drive with the windows down all year...
But yes I totally messed up the logic on that, it was a typed out train of thought - and I don't prefer to proofread...
Oh well
I find it great when O Fortuna comes on to crank the quite part up to a normal volume - then when it suddenly becomes loud my windows explode...
And the looks from other drivers at a stop light are great when that happens in the summer with the windows down!
Anyway...
Scratch that

Links back to the demonoid torrent I mentioned earlier - it's a good file, no problems downloading or quality.
I get "Torrentspy is Rebooting and Will be Back in 5-8 Minutes."
I think it died due to slashdotting...
Anyway...
As per my previous post:

There were 58 seeds last I looked(about 1/2 hour ago) so it's all there for you.
