    It can be much more direct than that. With many religions it's : 'Do x and don't do y or we will burn/decapitate/sacrifice you'. So obeying the rules is a very wise survival strategy.

    The problems come one you have more then a tiny number of people in the air. Suddenly it's not just that there are things to hit up there, they are moving in erratic patterns.

    Also pilots weren't expected to fly inside cities.

    There are no true renewable resources (even the sun will eventually be 'used up'). So, unless you advocate only developing technologies that can still work after the heat death of the universe, there is nothing wrong with technologies that lessen our dependence on fossil fuels.

    It would be interesting to see what grade it would give to a student that negated all of the 'correct' key phrases. Can it distinguish between 'X was born in the year Y' and 'X was NOT born in the year Y, but was created by aliens in the year Y2 and then deposited in the past'?

    Start giving law enforcement bonuses for every politician they throw in prison.
    That approach works so well in the private sector I'm sure that there could be no negative effects if we include it in law enforcement.

    It's their choice. If they want to operate in two countries, whose laws contradict then they have to accept the consequences.

    Aren't you using the poem incorrectly? It's originally about people not protesting about mistreatment/killing of individuals by the all-powerful government, when this case is about the actions of individuals against powerful organizations/governments.

    The direct harm this hack will to the government of Iran can be compared to neighborhood kids breaking one of your basement windows - annoying but not exactly life wrecking ---- unless of course that broken window reveals your daughter/sex slave that you were keeping prisoner in there. If that happens you deserve everything you get.

    When I buy a book it only rarely comes with half the pages stuck together, missing chapters or set to self destruct when you reach page x.
    It's also rare to have the book tell you : 'If you want to know what happened in chapters 3, 5 and 9, please send 10$ to the author now'.
    And buying a used car doesn't allow the manufacturer to prevent you from getting it registered.

    And if they have a problem with it, I'm sure there is a line in the EULA that gives Sony the right to shut down the PSN.

    The Witcher went the other way -- you pretty much couldn't make a 100% win-win decision. It wears on you.

    Tell me about it. It's strange how a game where you play an unstoppable killing machine can still makes you feel powerless. Just about any decision you make ends up getting innocent people killed.

    What about the allied decision to support Stalin? (who wasn't all that different from Hitler). And let him keep half of Europe once the war was over, when that occupation was in many ways worse then what the Germans were doing during the war.

    Or what about Finland?
