    I thought the budget was cut for this past season which is one reason for smaller cast/simpler sets?

    I do like Moffat's approach to time travel and people interacting at different points in their personal time lines. Most time travel seems to be used as a vehicle for different costumes but Moffat makes it cool!

    Heh. Daughter (9 years old) was scared out of room by DW The Empty Child episode, when she was 6 (go figure) but since giving it another chance last year, she now knows it's a like a roller coaster ride; it'll be a bit scary but things will work out in the end.

    Blink has now become a fav episode for her.

    Yeah, I have an old Lide 80 that won't work with OS X anymore. If there's linux drivers, I suppose one could build them in to X11 on Mac?

    You mean every Apple story is full of lots of Apple Worshiping. Slashdot is filled with Apple lovers who do nothing but fill up the forums, going on and on and on about how great Apple products are.

    Part of Roddenberry's deal with the tv studios was that any company that produced working tech similar to stuff on Star Trek would be allowed to use names like Tricorder and such.

    I did this with a b/w scanner had in the school newspaper back in '89. Got some cyan/magenta/yellow gels from the theater department and was churning out color seps for the newspaper. Got an A in intro to desktop publishing. Dropped my intro to DOS class as we were still learning about moving files around and such and decided to get a Mac at that point.

    Weird. I have barely over a hundred on my FB list and they're all folks I know from school, SCA, or family. Now that I think about it, I've had a beer with everyone on my list. Even that weird comic author I partied with at MosCon, back in the '80's. Why would I let strangers see my stuff?

    Heh. I'm life long geek (still have D&D brown books in white box) and yeah, there's no chance any bikini model type woman would be contacting me for any legitimate purpose. Now, if it was some kind of 'Queen of Mensa' or John Scalzi blog post reply, they'd have a better chance of getting me to click a link.
